If flyers can move vinny and resign timonen, we will be a significantly better hockey team. - FlyersSteve118
They need continued growth from Coots, B. Schenn, and Raffl. I think Vinny does get moved. I think Alt makes the top 6 out of camp. Right handed d-man with good size and speed and a year under his belt at the AHL.

Wow. It looks like Pearson and toffoli are growing into better all around players than Simmonds. Think la just might have known what they were doing in that trade |

Myers could be a number one. He's got the tools. Just needs to get consistentcy - Jsaquella
While I wouldn't give up anything significant for Tyler Myers, with the current to make of the team, I would absolutely take a chance on him. And by significant, I mean none of the current youth already on the roster. If we have to give to get, I would consider high draft picks and young players we might not necessarily need (Laughton, Morin, Hagg, Gostisbehere). I'm not saying give up on them all, I'm saying you might have to let go of one. Plus I'm assuming the next big thing will be drafted this year in Philly. |

Maybe but I'm thinking if any team wants Myers, they should take a run at him while his Stalk is low. I do feel Philly should be one of those teams. |

Regardless if Lecavalier is moved this offseason or Laughton plays, I'm getting the feeling many fans (not me) feel Brayden Schenn has to be in the middle. If this is the case, this could make Laughton expendable. I'm not saying I wanna trade anyone, I'm saying we have a lot of centers.
Claude Giroux, Jake Voracek, Wayne Simmonds, Matt Read, Luke Schenn, Brayden Schenn, Sean Connery and Steve Mason. Looks to me we just need one final piece. A young, puck moving dynamic defenseman. They don't exactly grow on trees but I do feel that's all we're missing. |

Watching these games I think it's clear the Flyers need to be honest with themselves. The team is not a cup level team. When you're not a cup level team you don't sign aging players to 5 year deals. We have a great young core at forward. Need to find a way to hold the fort until the young Dmen arrive without losing assets. |

I know this is really a Kings question, but I don't want to seem trollish, and this might in their thread. Is Mike Richards, considering the player he's become, $5.75 mill contract worthy? And do you think he might be a buyout? And I'm not saying I want him back here. I'm just thinking, if you're LA, do you want to pay that for someone who basically has become a PK specialist and 4th line center? |

he's not worth that kind of money, and not for the length of time remaining on his contract. still a good player though. |

i think hextall will be patient and take the approach you wish to see. unloading aging players with bloated contracts will be a step in the right direction, but you can't dump them all...you need a bit of a mix. |

No idea. He's got a lot of cash and a lot of years left, and while they have a decent amount of room for next season, the season after they have a lot of FAs they'll need to make decisions on.
Up front, veterans Justin Williams and Jarrett Stoll will need news deals, and youngsters like Tyler Toffoli, Tanner Pearson & Jordan Nolan will be getting raises. On defense, key guys like Alec Martinez and Jake Muzzin will be due fairly significant raises. They also will have Martin Jones hitting RFA in the summer of 2015. |

I hope so. I really just hope Snyder sees it. The time to do it was 2 years ago when they were "close". I was a sell, sell guy at that time for anyone not in the teams future. When they went for it at that point they had no choice but to stay the course.
I just hope this is a new beginning, not just another GM who needs to follow Snyder's wishes. |

I'm not even thinking of him here. But I would think they'd buy him out. And someone who needs a 3rd line 2-way defensive character guy would take him for a lot less than he's making now.
And Carter has matured so much on and off the ice I don't think the breakup of frick & frack would affect him that much any more. |

Buffalo already has Risto and Zado and a couple other solid prospects coming up on D, so they probably aren't going to want more prospects, especially for a proven NHL defenseman, but rather a top-6 defender and a top-6 forward, minimum, for Myers. Why take less? |

I don't think LA can keep both Brown and Richards for the cost and duration of their contracts as they're essentially the same player and they both make too much for what they produce...but they both have that damned intangible found in winners. |
