It was interesting to hear Jonesy and Milbury talk about the Kings winning the cup having changed him as a player. Making him more committed and harder working on and off the ice. Interesting. I do know that he seems like a completely different personality in interviews (meaning, he has one now). - bodiva88
He was traded, he embarrassed himself, twice, and then he seemed to regrow his gonads in LA, especially after having his name engraved on the cup. It definitely seems like Carter has more to prove. |

Who would ever have guessed he'd be the one with the A, not Richie. |

The only fitting response: Life is funny.
Some people crumble, Carter seems to be getting stronger, and Richards seems to be fading. |

Jeff Carter about to win a conn smythe and another cup
That summer of 2011 gets better every freaking day - Winning
It sure does, the Flyers traded Carter to Columbus and got Voracek and a high pick that turned into Couturier plus a 3 round pick.
I personally believe the Flyers are a better team with Voracek and Couturier than they would be with Carter.

Buffalo already has Risto and Zado and a couple other solid prospects coming up on D, so they probably aren't going to want more prospects, especially for a proven NHL defenseman, but rather a top-6 defender and a top-6 forward, minimum, for Myers. Why take less? - wolfhounds
Myers is a proven NHL player yes, but he's not living up to his deal. Sometimes players just need a fresh start. Could the Sabers wait Myers out as their young players come up through the system? Sure. At the same time, the entire organization should probably start from scratch. Buffalo has give up on a lot of players in recent years and seem to get even worse year after year. |

Buffalo has a lot of high end D prospects and would certainly be willing to trade Myers in the right deal. However, when you consider that Laughton is the only quality forward prospect the Flyers currently have, I'm not sure that giving up B. Schenn+ for him is a good idea.

It's difficult. Tim Murray is on the record as a Myers fan, so it's not as if he'll come cheap, nor should he.
Myers was signed to a dumb contract, with the hope he'd play up to it. That said, he had a good season in 2013-14 and still has number one guy potential. I think that the cost risk analysis isn't good for the Flyers. |
