A couple OKC playoff games. He is very sound positionaly but the skating just isn't there and I doubt it ever will be. I wanted Jenner or Gibson at the time and still wish we'd landed one of them - Ihatebrianburke
I could only catch one game on TV. Did you watch online? How did nurse look? In my one viewing he was impressive. |

Ok see that's a fair assessment. I just think you were a tad too extreme in your original post. While is skating is definitely a weakness I think it's being blown out of proportion. What he lacks in skating ability he makes up for with strong defensive awareness and positioning and has already taken on a role of mentoring and easing in partners like Gernat and Oesterle. - MaximumBone
When partnered with Klefbom I heard they made quite the shutdown pair, but what's he gonna do when he's playing against top talent in the nhl instead of a bunch of plugs and prospects. If someone were willing to take him as a piece in a package for something we need I wouldn't hesitate. I'd even say trade him for another prospect like the Kessy trade. Just hopefully we don't get fleeced again |

I have this thing called a raw media box similar to a jail broken Apple TV. It picks up any sporting event worldwide. Nurse held his own. It's really toobad that he isn't eligible for the AHL next year cause it would do a lot more for his development than another year of junior |

Does it come in relatively good quality for the channels? I'd definitely be interested in that.
Agreed on nurse. Would prefer him In the ahl for about a year after junior before he makes the jump. Hopefully we have depth to warrant that. |

If we pick Bennett, would you look to deal eberle in a season or so?
Assuming ganger is gone:
Hall nuge eberle
Perron bennet yakupov
That's not much better in terms of size. Those big Cali teams will still lean on us. We'd have to look for a bigger winger IMO.

Honestly I'd be happy with that at this point. This team can't develop a 3rd liner for the life of them. - Lahey
To answer your question from the last thread why Boston is (frank)ed for the cap?
They have 9.1 mill showing on Capgeek. But thats assuming it will be a 71 mill cap but it will only be about 69. So that leaves them 7.1 Mill to sign 6 guys. But they also have not yet added the cap bonuses on capgeek yet. Boston is going to get hit with about 5.8 mill in bonuses (4.2 from Iggy alone). So that will leave them with only 1.3 mill to sign 6 guys. Savard has to be left on the roster for opening day. They can LTIR him after that. So they are really in trouble. |

How do they owe Ig anything after this year? He is UFA as of July1, Capgeek is showing for the 14/15 season which is after FA.

Because he was over 35 he signed a games played bonus deal. Only 1.8 counted to the cap last year and the remaining 4.2 is applied to this years cap. |

This year? 13/14? Or 14/15. Cause this is still the 13/14 season, in case you were reading somehting and get mixed up.
Where do you get this, 'cause when I am going over his last contract he had a 1.8/4.2 salary structure which constituted his 6M cap hit for 13/14. |

Yes 1.8 Mill goes on the 13/14 cap and the 4.2 mill gets deferred to 14/15. That is why they do that. Can only be done with over 35 contract though. He didnt have a 6 mill cap hit in 13/14.
If you even look on capgeek at the top of the page it says they have not added in cap bonuses yet because they still need to calculate some of them. |

Think in terms of building a top nine.
Line 1 - Hall / RNH / Eberle
Line 2 - Perron / Bennett / ????
Line 3 - ???? / ???? / Yakupov |

The live feeds are kinda poopty sometimes depending on who the company is that they're jacking the stream from but if you watch something after it's done you can usually find HD quality. I do it with all the ufc fights. And I doubt we have that kind of depth |

Kesler has played 3rd line it's not really a reflection of his skill level. Hence why I put Yakupov on line 3 and he would get a boat load of power play time. |

kesler is an elite defensive player though.
even if your attempting to spread out offence (which im all for), I think strong or at least adequate defensive capabilities should be present in that position.
not to say yaks never can, but at present, he's not even close to what anyone could consider strong defensively.
out of our current top 6, perron is the only guy id really consider for a 3rd line role if we are in fact going in that direction. |
