If we could get a Kyle Turris type deal for gagner I'd take it. Turris proved less at the time. This would be only if Phoenix got desperate for offensive help and strike out in free agency or other trades:

2nd + Connor Murphy + rights to moss for gagner + a fourth rounder + lander

Is the rights to moss make it even? If we don't sign moss, we'd get a bit worse as we wouldn't have a guaranteed nhl body but Murphy played 30 games averaging 18 a night so maybe he plays third pairing? Right hand shot too.

Edmonton failed Gagner. There's little doubt in my mind that it's not the other way around.

For the record, I still think he could be an amazing keep for us. People need to stop focusing on the fact that he's only ever been on the losing squads. He's become an emblem of futility moreso than he is a futile player.

I think the big problem is that when we bench Yakupov, we essentially can either play Eberle more than he needs to be, or play Hendricks more than we should.

Without veteran depth, benching Yakupov, let alone Gagner, is a concession. No wonder they don't do it more often.
