Kings-Rangers cup final? I honestly can't think of a worse possible final for a Flyers fan than those two teams. - JAKEw1234
Starting to look that way. |

That was an overpay before the "throw in" of the PTBNL now 21 year old Domingo Santana, a RH hitting RF with similar numbers to Singleton
In AAA this year:
.294/.366/.510/.876.
Cosart has been struggling with his control in the bigs, but he's still a puppy. - jstross

Sounds about right, but Lombardi may want to buy some UFA years also like he did with Voynov. He signed him to a 6 year with a cap hit of $4.16 million/yr. Muzzin won't be an RFA until after next season. - ravishingone
Oh I was living my life thinking Muzzin's contract ran out this season. Guess I was wrong.
(frank) it. Offer sheet him anyway |

I remember being pissed that Santana was the PTBNL. Way too much upside to throw in with a top 40 and another top 100 prospect. RAJ really does need to go, but I honestly don't think it's happening. |

I'm fine with the draft & develop part, it's the rest of what has to be done I'm interested seeing what happens. - ob18
The key is the patience of ownership. The trouble there is, that the team as it is now has pieces that can be the foundation of a really good team. I'm fine with drafting & developing, but I really don't want to piss away anymore of Giroux's prime. |

Next summer is where the Kings could face issues.
Richards has remained a solid player, but is a solid depth guy worth a $5.7mm cap for the next 6 years? It's really only interesting because this is the final summer teams can use a CBO and avoid a cap penalty on a guy. - Jsaquella
Exactly and you wonder how much the cap will go up after this season's significant jump. I would figure Gaborik is going to get at least $5.5 million on a multi-year deal.

I just think he really doesn't get it. You give up Cosart, Singleton & Santana for Pence, who is scheduled to be a free agent(to be fair with arbitration rights) then trade him one year later, freshly signed for a guy they let walk and two low minors guys, one of whom seems to have any kind of real MLB future.
It's just baffling how he can turn $1mm in real estate into $25 cash |

That's the key, even with significant cap increases, it might be troublesome. If the cap increases, guys will demand a higher and higher cap hit.
Basically it weighs Richards and his expected play vs the value of having a third (or sometimes 4th) line center making near a $6mm cap hit for an extended period.
EDIT: Also, you might be able to keep Jarrett Stoll for under $4mm, and he's a very solid third line C, dominant at the dot, good defense, excellent slap shot. |

RAJ may survive until after next season, but all of those blue empty seats will get that ownership group to react eventually. They should trade Utley and Lee at the deadline, but RAJ evaluating prospects coming back.
The Sixers are closer to being a contending team, then the Phillies, amazing. |

Yeah, I really don't want Amaro running the yard sale this team needs. They'll trade Utley, Lee, Ruiz & whomever for the next generation's Steve Jeltz, Ricky Otero & Jeff Stone |
