Yea I saw that. It's a stepping stone, but not what I was thinking the "Major" news would be. - ImThatGuy
Out of the 1800 seats there will still be at least 800 opened the only game that would be sold out would be a Canada USA game. |

I really do wish the Lightning was here though in Orlando. I cannot stand driving down that evil road known as I-4 to see the Sabres play when they are in town.
At least we have an ECHL team now. They are a lot of fun to watch and the tickets are cheap. - burner087

for all the old guys ...
Is dominik Hasek The Greatest goaltender of all-time
can you name your 5 - gerbe75pts
Hasek was the G.O.A.T. and its not really close for me.
Consider this: When Hasek was in his prime playing with 2 of the goalies that contest that title (Roy and Broduer), neither could touch a Vezina. Yeah, they were off collecting Stanley Cups with their superior teammates and teams, but Hasek dominated the goalie position.
I'd rather go back in time and pay triple the money to watch Hasek stonewall Gretzky, Lemeiux, Jagr, Sakic, Forsberg, Yzerman, Federov, the list goes on... than pay to watch any player playing the game today. |

I think some people don't understand the magnitude in which improvements would have to be made to get this team out of the bottom 5.
The only teams I can think of that made an incredible turn around like that are Philly and Columbus but both teams had far better/more ready young NHLers than we do. Plus I think the bad year from philly was more about long term injuries. - Sabresfan-365
The Sabres lost 27 games by 1 goal last year. If they win half of those games they are only 6th worst. I think people (myself included) are hoping that they are worse than they really are. |

Interesting point about how good the teams were in front of these goalies. Tretiak is on my short list, but the red army teams he played on would have won the cup every year if they played in the nhl, even against the trottier/bossy isles and the gretzky/messier oilers.

Pretty sure he won 6 Vezinas in the span of 8 years. He also has 2 Hart trophies and the highest career SV%. He also has the most saves in a shutout (playoffs not reg season) and I believe he played against Brodeur in that game, and when he won that epic shootout on his way to Olympic gold, it was against Roy. |

Well, the tone of what you wrote in response to the bolded statement suggested otherwise. |
