No, you're right. However, only he and his scouts know who they like. If they picked someone like Draisaitl at #2, I'd have to trust that they know what they're doing

I see your point but my thinking was more of what it would take for me to short cut the rebuild.

The question I asked myself on the offer sheet is that can you with a 1-2-3 of Johansen-Reinhart/Bennet and Girgensons and I think my answer would be yes you can. Or Johansen-Grigorenko/Ennis and Girgensons and you stack your D with Ekblad.

I guess my main point here is go big or go home, if the tank is on it has to be really on (alluding to your targets of McDavid and Eichel) and if you want short it, you have to bring in someone who you can sit there and say, yea i can with him and so and so as my #1 and #2 centres.

I completely agree, it was just a thought that came across my mind as I was reading something on the Kessel trade from a few years ago.

I honestly wouldn't mind too much if Murray got Draisaitl, as long as Reinhart was off the board by then. IMO, Draisaitl has the highest potential ceiling. The only question is if he will reach it.

he reminds me of Corey Perry, I hope he reminds Murray of Perry too.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Murray make some moves, just not that drastic.
Next off season could get VERY interesting though.
I think this summer will just be some tweeks that set us up for big moves to come...
But we shall see
If a major trade presents itself now, I don't think Murray will sit on his hands if its a good deal

Goalie is the biggest question mark we have. I don't think we have our goalie of the future on the roster right now. In all honesty I could see Neuvirth or Enroth being moved at the draft. One of those two guys will be our starting goalie next year with a verteran backup. I'm all for Bennett, getting Virtanen will be pretty hard I see him going in the top ten. As far as captain I think it will be Spezza...

I'd say all of the guys we have looked great at times, but also horrible at times...
U prob could've said that about Miller too though when he was on Rochester and trying to earn a spot on the Sabres
Goalies are easily the toughest spot to project
Hopefully we can get Ullmark signed
He won goalie of the year in Sweden & looks like he MIGHT be a good one.
We have till June 1st or his rights go back in the draft

I think Supercat just loves proposing dumb trades to see how much he can stir it up around here . Don't worry I do not think Tim Murray would listen to him . If he does . We are screwed.

The idea is to get one or more championships out of this. In order to win a championship, you need to have a plan. Whether that's a plan that's been used by someone else, or something completely innovative, it needs to be a plan nonetheless. To merely say "we suck, let's rebuild" is simply a continuation of the loser mentality that's haunted this franchise for decades.

"We suck let's rebuild" is the exact mantra Murray has been chanting since he came in here. We need a rebuild. We have already started the rebuild f you cannot see that then honestly man you are just blind. You honestly think a couple signings will help us into the playoffs? No it wouldn't. It will take a couple of franchise players to get this franchise back to being a championship caliber team. There aren't many teams willing to trade franchise players and not many big name free agents have Buffalo at the top of their list of preferred destinations. High drafting is the only way to get this franchise back on track.
