Yeah. Jokinen would be ideal. He can play with Giroux and a Jokinen-Giroux-Simmonds line, backed by a Hartnell-Schenn-Voracek line could be a matchup headache for other teams and then you still have the Read-Couturier pair with another winger (Akeson? Raffl? Laughton?) - Jsaquella
Thats exactly my thinking. Jokinen is such a useful tool for any lineup. I really hope the Flyers target him. What kind of contract do you think he gets? |

Wouldn't mind at all if Morin were shipped back to juniors again next season. Still very many raw elements about his game. No need to rush him. - bradleyc4

Is he willing to come over? Good looking numbers - Jsaquella
He's out there unsigned... would love to see the Flyers make a play for him. |

Jfc, if only he would drop that far... - Tomahawk
If he fell to #17 they should sprint to the podium |

Well the Ducks are at #10 they could be willing to deal, I still see him in the 6 - 9 range |

He could also be a complete bust. If they can move VL, I'd much rather have Jokinen |

Barry Smith, Modo assistant coach - regarding Hagg
I think if Robert works hard, plays with confidence and plays within himself, he can be a fifth or sixth defenseman at the NHL level eventually
far cry from the projections Button gave him. - nastyflyergirl
The moment Erik Gustafsson moved on and with Hagg already a Phantom, my assumption was already that he might be the most likely to replace Gustafsson. |

Joakim Lindstrom would have been nice, but STL just snapped him up. |

So after this year Pronger's contract has him making the league minimum for the last 2 years. Does that give them some flexibility when it comes to moving his contract to someone who might need to reach the cap ceiling? Is there anything creative that can be done or we just have to deal with it until the contract ends? |

Deal with it. Cap hit doesn't change, even though the salary dips. Maybe a budget team would have interest, not sure the NHL would allow so blatant a cap circumvention |

I've felt all along that he gets moved to a team struggling to reach the cap floor after next season |

I'd be good with a cheaper option, given the limited cap resources. |

Possible, I also think that if he gets traded, he'd probably immediately retire and get a full time gig with the Flyers. |

At that point the Flyers can pay him the salary he would have received, the other team gets the cap hit and zero expense in terms of real dollars and the Flyers get more off season cap room to play with over the limit. |

Exactly, I have to think that by 15-16, when the cap floor may well be approaching 60 million, there will be a few teams very willing to do a deal like this |

Definitely something to keep an eye on...wonder if the NHL would step in and nulify it as a cap circumvention issue. |

i thought if Pronger retired, no matter what team he was on, the cap implications would go to the team that signed the contract, not the team he was currently playing for. |

Cap recapture only applies to deals longer than 8 years. Pronger's deal is 7 years long. If he's traded, and retired, the team that acquires him gets the whole hit. |
