Yep. I like all of those guys, but B. Schenn was almost as highly touted as them in his draft year - Jsaquella
Schenns were overhyped Toronto area family name prospects. That's becoming very appearrant. Luke was supposed to be stud #1 dman and Brayden was supposed to be even better by the time he was Luke's age. Time has shown that not to be true. They still are decent players but time will tell. I think bennet/ Reinhardt/ekblad will all turn out much better than the schenn bro |

Schenns hail from Saskatoon... and Brayden's pretty much right on track despite what most fans will tell you. Better line mates and the 2nd-pp meriting more than 15-30secs per penalty and he'd probably already be a 60-pt player. |

Wow. I threw out two meaningful topics but you guys would rather dream of the Flyers finding a partner who's willing to take on a larger hit in dead cap space... |

It has to count against the Cap. It's still money paid to a player, and needs to count agianst the players share. - MJL
You're telling me what the rules are. I already know the rules.
I was asserting that the rule is stupid. |

At that point the Flyers can pay him the salary he would have received, the other team gets the cap hit and zero expense in terms of real dollars and the Flyers get more off season cap room to play with over the limit. - Jsaquella
You think he'd stay with the Flyers opposed to Anaheim (where he won a Cup), St. Louis (where he won a Hart and was captain for a number of years), or somewhere closer to where he grew up (Toronto???)? |

From a non-numbers perspective, it's be nice to see him win a big face off now and again and be a little tougher in board/puck battles.
But, yeah, he's 22. |

I'm gonna come out and say that Brayden will be better than Luke by the time he's Luke's age.
In other words, it can never happen. |

I think Pronger and his family have already moved back to St. Louis.
The whole sham is mind-bendingly stupid. |

FO% statistically improves with age, so hopefully he follows that trend. |

I agree. Not that I'm comparing Brayden Schenn to Mike Richards but Richards was manning the point on the top PP unit by his third season as a Flyer, and leading the team in points because of this with larger roles on the team. Brayden needs a bigger role in my opinion. I think he should at least be killing penalties regularly. And so I ask, what type of player is Brayden Schenn exactly? Is he a two way forward? I don't find him to be that great defensively as a center five on five. Is he a sniper? Not consistent enough with scoring. Playmaker? Nope! Keep in mind that I love this kid and see his potential to be a solid NHL player someday but what is he suppose to be? |

Probably has to do with growth and upper-body strength...and experience. |

And b schenn wasn't even close to being as highly tauted as the big 3 that year. It was clearly Tavares hedman ducshene. |

The cap is hurt when you sign guys to replace L.Schenn & Simmonds.
Also how are those guys better than Schenn? The junior success they had might not translate to the NHL right away. - Jsaquella
Read replaces simmonds on 2nd line. Getting a 3rd line winger isn't expensive and filling a #6 dman also isn't expensive. |

Anyone think Jake Virtanen from the Hitmen could drop to the Flyers at 17 since he suffered the shoulder injury. If he did would you pick him or think it too big of a risk. Could be a steal once healthy at 17 |

Yeah, there are very few players in the league that can out-produce multiple good players.
Eberle isn't one of them... and the kids from this draft are more on a Turris/JvR timetable than a Kane. - Tomahawk
We had 7 guys score 20+ goals this year far and away the most. Out producing someone means squat. It's overall fit that matters. Ie Ritchie on the 4th line in la producing nothing but likely to win another cup |

I'm telling you all, we should trade up to #11/12 if Hayden Fleury is still available. Dude's awesome. |

Maybe I'm missing something but do some of you look at some switches as a pecking order? You simply replace one guy with another and voila! You have to find the right fit. Right now the perfect fit is Read to play with Couturier. In my opinion, it would be nice to find that perfect complement to the two of them. |
