Maroon never got the sniff McGinn did regardless of the issues that later came to be and regardless how much better a player he was then McGinn. - SuperSchennBros
McGinn got a sniff because of injuries. Maroon didnt have that luxury. Maroon was also younger when he was traded than McGinn is now |

So we're putting an NHL pairing of Ekblad and Ghost directly into the NHL opening day, and another pair is a player who still has a lot his game to work on with MacDonald?
You, sir, are not smart. You just aren't, on this topic. I'm sorry, but you aren't.

Regardless of individual roles, they've put together one hell of a team.

They are a joy to watch play. They play the game the right way. I don't think they had their A game last night, but I'm thouroughly enjoying that series. It's great Hockey. |

Laughton LSchenn and 17th overall for Seth Jones. I think that is a good offer. Remember LSchenn was a beast under Lavi so I could see them having raised interest in him. And you keep BSchenn over Laughton as to not overly weaken our LW depth.
Nashville would get themselves two solid players and still have the 8th and 17th picks to play with. Maybe they could get a bit more for Jones but that is the kind of move that franchise needs to make if theyre ever going to accomplish anything around Weber imo. |

During training camp of 09 James van Riemsdyk and Patrick Maroon were competing for a job. I think the decision was made when JvR not only had an impressive camp but played all pre season games, while Maroon played something like one or two. There have been injuries, we just didn't call up Maroon. |

I'm not saying he'll be a similar player to them. I just think he still has the potential to be a 70-80 point player. I don't want to set his ceiling at 60 points.
Like I said though. I would bet against him ever reaching #1C center status. - PhillySportsGuy
I'm not going to say that's wrong, and I hope you're right. I just don't know if he'll score at that level. |

I like Richards as much as anyone here, but 6 more years at a $5.7mm cap hit is nuts for the player he is today. He still is a very serviceable player, still can be a good secondary piece on a good team, but he's not a franchise guy or near franchise guy - Jsaquella
But he's only 29? It's a slump. He'll bounce back. He's just hitting his prime. I think the the new prime for the most part is 24 to 28. Most players start to decline a lot after 28 or so |

Mike Richards went something like 23 games without a goal this year. That's not a drought. I think his style of play coupled with his size has taken something out of him. And I'm a big Mike Richards fan. That said, he's a perfect #3/#4 center, but if that's really what he is gonna be, LA might use a CBO, as that's a lot to pay for a #4C coughVinnycough. - jmatchett383
I've been watching Richards closely in the playoffs. He doesn't seem like a player who has lost something to me. He looks like a player that is sacrificing personal goals for teams goals, and is doing what he is asked, for the good of the team. There is no doubt in my mind that he could be a solid 2nd line center for a lot of teams in this league still. |

Deal. Although I think it takes schenn instead of Laughton to get the deal done |

He's been in decline for a couple of seasons now.
People can call it a transition or a sacrifice, but he's not the same player as his peak years here. - bradleyc4
In his peak years here, he was an 80 point top line center. He isn't that player anymore. But there's no doubt in my mind that he could still be a 20 goal, 60 point second line center for a lot of teams still. |

I'd do either Schenn or Laughton, but I'm not sure Nashville does. |

Generally, by age 29, a good number of players start to see a decline in offenses output. It's not that Richards is a bad player, it's just that he is not a guy that teams would make the face of the franchise any longer |

It would be. On one play.
It would be followed by Dennis Rodman drop kicking the guy while donning a Madonna wig and wearing 5" pumps. |

Jordan was a sociopath, who, had someone done that to him, would have likely gone on to score 110 points himself and tried to get with the guy's wife or GF after the game for good measure. |

"Hey, we got this defenseman who's pretty okay, a mid to late pick in a fairly bland draft, and your choice either a guy who's yet to play an NHL game or a guy who scored 20 goals that's demanding 3 million dollars. Can we have your top young burgeoning star defenseman? Hello? Hello???"
Seth Jones can be acquired. But it's gonna include (at least) one of Ghost, Morin, or Hagg going back. |

Back in those days, Rodman could still probably grab 10 rebounds per game wearing those 5" pumps. |

I don't think it would be for a good/playoff team. Maybe for the Leafs or Panthers. |
