I really think the best way to improve is simply to develop young players and be patient with them. This means building through the draft primarily and trades and free agency secondarily. I'd rather endure another season or two of mediocrity and let the young guys develop than to trade away young talent in attempt to get better quicker.
Keep both Schenns, as well as Giroux (obviously), Voracek, Simmonds, Couts, Read, Laughton, Ghost, Morin, Hagg, and Alt.
If you can trade Grossman and Vinny, then I'm great with that, but don't trade away young pieces.
Excellent drafting along with strong player development is the answer, nothing else is. |

I hate your patience and your complete unwillingness to turn over half of the young roster pieces immediately in return for young pieces that we will turn over in 3-4 years. We need drastic, impulsive changes now. More JVR for Schenn!!! |

It's simply a discussion of the hypothetical situation that somebody proposed. Also working for the Flyers does not mean that he has to live in Philadelphia. Mark Howe lives in Pennsylvania he works for the Red Wings - Jsaquella
hell, doc lives in michigan. and he did while he was the devils pxp guy. |

I don't think it would be for a good/playoff team. Maybe for the Leafs or Panthers. - bradleyc4
I disagree. I have no doubts that he could center a 2nd line on a quality team. |

It's going to take more then 2 seasons to improve the defense by just letting the young players develop. |
