I've been thinking recently about the scuttlebutt around a possible Mike Richards buyout in La. Should the Sabres consider trying a trade there? I think he's clearly a better player than what we saw this year from him, and if that's correct, his age, leadership and physicality would fit on this team for whom his cap ht would be manageable, and we'd save the kings a buyout.
Rumors have it the return for him is depressed, I think he'd be a great fit in a buy low scenario from a team we have a positive trade history with. |

There are worse players they can bring in. He'd probably be a decent role model for (hopefully) Sam Reinhart to emulate as a leader as well, provided he doesn't pout for being moved from a Cup contender to the worst team in the league. |

Straight up trade Erhoff for Richards . If you can convince Erhoff to go west. |

They should be able to get more than just Richards for Ehrhoff. There's no hurry to move him. The Sabres have all the leverage, and should use it. |

He's 29. I'm not sure I'd be interested in giving up Armia for a 29 year old who has already shown some signs of slowing down.
44 points in 72 games 2 years ago and 41 points in 82 games this year.
I think Armia has a better ceiling than that. |

Reinhart still at top of Sabres board but I wish we could nab Bennett too. Either way you have to be happy we get a decent player but we prolly need both haha |

Gives them cap relief and he has already been paid a big chunk of his money . People underestimate how attractive a target that makes him. |

I don't necessarily want Richards, however I doubt we could get someone of his caliber for Hoff.
Yes he had a down year offensively but so did a few Kings players |

I'd rather go the younger prospect route for him, especially at this state of the organization (i.e. the Puulkanen/Sheahan route).
Plus, if the Kings really are looking to buy him out, you definitely shouldn't have to give Ehrhoff up for him. |

Our problem is we have to trade for Salary to make cap floor , Not trade away what we have for prospects . I am not a fan of Richards but he helps us make the floor and who knows might be a good influence on the young ones. No Rush to trade Erhoff that is why I think Buffalo can get a good haul for him,

There's no way he's bought out.
For example I'm pretty sure the Oilers would absolutely take his contract as he's the exact type of player they need |

Worth considering
But at 5.75m cap hit for the next 6yrs...
Pretty risky if he doesn't return to form
And...
He's most likely named captain
Is he the right leader for our group of youngsters?
Although LA has found success, philly did get rid of him for a reason
I'm not sure how I feel about bringing him in

Why do u keep posting this?
Its been debated to death
And I think I've heard these guys compared to about 20 different players... So that's prob not the best way to go about it |
