nice blog

(waits for the Miller is the best option, enroth is an ahl goalie, hackett is a bum, too much blah in net, bring back hasek, tank for the first overall pick, I can kick your ass, glue factor, vanek floats, videos, beer, music, wings, and whatever else becomes the flavor of the minute.)

- homiedclown

Basically we have a lot of lumps of coal and were hopeing at least one turns into a legit NHL starting goalie at this point. Oh Vanek does float ask Montreal.

He's one of the guys I could see being moved for E.Kane if they make a move for him.

Yeah the team speed as a whole is very lacking.

- dadeadhead

Grigorenko could fit in the Peg, considering they are pretty small down the middle of the ice.

Not sure I would want to give too much more for Kane. Maybe Grigorenko+ Hodgson?

FTFY.

There is no forward I would consider untouchable, IMO. Yes that includes Girgensons, the return would have to be great though.

- ImThatGuy

2 untouchable players Zads and Girgensons. 0 % chance Girgensons is traded by TM.

TM said Myers, Risto, and Girgs.

If you want them be prepared to pay.

To me that means untouchable.

I want nothing to do with Kane if having to give up someone in the top 6 to get him. He's a 50 point per year player, Hodgson had 44 last year, 34 in a shortened prior season, and seems to be coming into his own now so it seems too lateral a move for a headcase.

I also wouldn't want to give up a decent player plus Grigorenko, who I think will finally have his chance to develop into that first round pick kind of player he should be.

Let some other team overpay for Kane, I want the other Kane anyways. He's from Buffalo after all!!!

In a weak draft.
- dadeadhead

Exactly, which would only strengthen ehrhoffs value in the trade since, we would only be getting a pick.

Nobody in the top 10 is moving out of the 1st rd for Hoff and 2 2014 2nds.

You might be able to get in the 12-20 range.

I agree mostly, I don't think Kane is a superstar, although I do think he has the ability to be a difference maker

Carolina did it for Staal a few years ago. Something IMO they would like to take back.

Not me, they need help up front more than we need Subban. If they were to trade for a top notch d-man, I'd prefer a stay at home type

Depending out the state of my team, absolutely. What's the odds of a player taken 6-10 to be as successful/productive of ehrhoff? In a normal year about 16-19 percent, throw in the fact it's a weak draft, so even less of a chance. And you're only moving 24 spots back, while obtaining another early 2nd on top of ehrhoff.

A team like Carolina, could see it as a move that would help them make a jump into the playoffs when you add a vet such as that to their young d core.

Unless you've acquired that pick via trade, chances are you need much more than just a seasoned vet like Ehrhoff to make you a legitimate playoff contender if you're in that draft position. You're better off keeping the pick.

Last team in the world to make that mistake again. They are rumored to be looking to move one of Staal, Staal, or Skinner and figure a way to 86 Cam Ward. They are looking more and more like a team ready for full rebuild mode.

Ehlers, Virtanen, Kapanen, or Nylander has more value to them than Hoff and 2 seconds IMO.

I understand he was great in the Boston series, but the way he's been out of gas in this series makes me question his conditioning.

I think Carolina has internal and team indentity issues going on.That might be the last team that would want Ehrhoff.Even Eric Stahl looked unmotivated and tired this season.Anyways I predict this is gong to be another boring draft myself.

He also just isn't that great. Don't get me wrong, he's an awesome hockey player but he's not on the Doughty, Weber level just yet

Bingo.

IMO the 2 seconds are an insult. They might be willing to move back a few spots but completely out of the 1st rd when you pick in the top 10 is a quick way to get the ax. Carolina has a new GM and looking to make his mark. Keeping the pick and drafting a guy with a big ceiling is a way to do that. Unless you can use the pick to trade for a superstar, you keep the pick.
