im right there. i dont want to see more powerplays. i dont. and i dont want whistles and the flow of the game to stop every single moment. but if that is what it initially takes to get teams to (frank)ing stop, then do it.
theyll stop.
and if they dont, and still believe it to be in their advantage to surrender 7 PPs a game in order to spend the rest of it clutching at grabbing, then oh well. at least its fair. - stayinthefnnet

I thought Streit played much better in the 2nd half of the season, & playoffs.
Sorry, I know no one wants to do this, but I want Niskanen, he would solidify our top 4, and make us that much better. - puckhead17
he will definitely improve you guys. but he is going to be overpaid due to the market. likely 6 million. people will hate him. |

it does. im not gouging the flyers for the fact that they spend so much on it. more so that they dont necessarily allocate their funds in a good enough balance.
but then again, you can only really pay who is available. - stayinthefnnet
The Pens D corps, (I always thought), was underrated, you guys had much better depth on the blue line than given credit for. |

individually, i think the pens have a ton of underrated d guys. and have a ton of ones im excited about coming up.
but like it was being said earlier, you can have all the talent you want. when you just have rampant apathy throughout the organization about accountability and disciplined play, little else ends up mattering. and thats on the forwards, the defense, all of them. |

No offense, but when Kimmo was 38, he was paid $6 mill for another year or 2, so I see the funds staying at the same position, and I would rather give it to a 27 year old guy like him that can grow with the team. |

haha definitely true.
ill be sad to see nisk go. his numbers definitely were helped a little by playing with malkin and crosby. but just watching him over the past few years, he has grown tremendously as a player.
he would compliment coburn nicely. |

The only thing is, adding Niskanen will greatly reduce the chances of the team to add a bona fide #1 in the future if it becomes available. But the flip side is that what are the odds of one becoming available? And if they can move Lecavalier and Grossmann, and add Niskanen. That's not a bad move.

that is exactly it. if you add him, you really arent going to be able to afford that run at another guy.
but realistically, who will become available? there is a reason niskanen is the top guy out there right now.
and relatively speaking, he is still damn young. |

taking into account the consistency factor, and the way the team plays, Martin is the pens most valuable dman. |

Might want to take a look at Capgeek and confirm that. Because that is incorrect. - MJL
Are you a computer? It was a sarcastic statement that our d is highly over payed. And I don't give a rats a$$ how you explain team defense or a forwards responsibility. I don't give rhinos sh$t if a Dman falls on his face you'll never justify Brian f ing Boyle picking up a puck and going around one of our dman and getting a shot off. Even if one falls the other one has to get over. It's Brian f ing Boyle. And I saw it more than once. Totally unacceptable. |

I'd probably reverse that. And have Amac with Streit. And Niskanen with Coburn. But then the issue is, that they'll likely have to move Grossmann to afford that. And go with a young guy on the 3rd pair such as Alt, to play with Schenn.

You stated it twice, it obviously wasn't a sarcastic comment. And Boyle is not a bad player, who sometimes is able to get a shot on net. But I guess something like that is never supposed to happen.

The alternative would be having the worst defense in the league.
I know he will cost too much, but we paid Vinny how much?
This is more of a necessity, over the "sexy" moves that Homer loved so much.
Edit $5.25 mill for a 36 year old Streit
OR
$6.5 mill, (maybe), for a 27 year old Niskanen? |

The same Wilson that knocked schenn into the year 2030. - Sms401
Plenty of players could plaster BSchenn into the wall if they skated all the way from the bench and got up to full speed. Most players don't want to get thrown out of the game and risk a suspension. |

I literally hate everything. I was at checkout and a dialogue box popped up that said "a confirmation email will be sent to you shortly" and I couldn't close the box. I'd click close window and the X and it wouldn't close. Then, it said my reservations expired.
Tried again, all tickets were sold.

Dude Boyle picking up loose puck at his blue line when we have two dman back and he skates it up the wing and gets around both dmen and gets a shot off is as bad as if you or I jumped out if the stands and did the same thing. Sorry I'm so offensive just my blood boyles at the thought. And yes that was a pun |
