To be honest, I'm surprised that the Pens haven't made a decision regarding the new GM yet. If they bring someone in from the outside, that person is going to have to hit the ground running given that there is only four weeks until FA and some NTCs kick in, not to mention the coaching dilemma. Wonder what the holdup is? - errey12
I think it was Madden and Dejean said it should come next week during the stanley cup |

Not true, ask me anything about Matt Cooke; I promise you there is not one negative thing I have ever said about him. Plus there are many many facets of this team that I love, like the goalie; I have never once complained about MAF. I think he is a fantastic goalie, and will be very sad if he gets dealt. There is plenty about this club that I like, sadly though for the past 5 years there has been a lot to not like about this team; head coach being first and foremost. Well besides Brandon Sutter, who I believe to be the poison that is slowly killing this clubhouse. - nbartley9

Good news we won't have to listen to him on tv anymore. The bad news he'd be our (frank)ing GM |

The Sutter piece was a little over the top. However I did meet Sutter at work and he was kind of a douche |

Actually, I'm probably one of the very few who don't really mind him. It's that needle-nose, east coast dweeb and his sidekick that I don't care for at all.

Hire Pierre so he can hire john tortorella, then trade Letang, Neal, Malkin, Despres, and MAF, and bring back Carcillo with Neil Kane and Nailz and we can call it a season and focus on the NFL! |

Honestly, the Penguins could have 4 or 5 players on ELC or near-ELC deals for them next season. Maatta & Bennett are locks. Bortuzzo isn't on an ELC deal, but at $600K its pretty close. Add in Dumoulin & possibly Despres (RFA) & the Pens could finally have some serious Cap savings from ELC deals to spread around to the rest of the roster. - s0rcerer1984
Because I'm bored.
Done without trades or buyouts at $70M Cap w/ $525K space left over. Key is Bennett, Megna, Maatta, Despres, Dumoulin, & Bortuzzo all on sub-$1M contracts.
Reasoning:
- Matt Moulson: Has shown he can play with a skilled C in Tavares & has a bit of an edge to his game. I think he would add an element of grit to the Penguins that Jokinen does not.
- David Moss: For size. Isn't going to light it up on O, but has been a consistent 20pt player on Phx. Not sure who esle to slot into the 3RW posistion. Could swap with Megna on the 4th line maybe?
- Dominic Moore and David Brodie: Size & sandpaper.
- Gibbons and Adams as spares.
FORWARDS
Chris Kunitz ($3.850m) / Sidney Crosby ($8.700m) / Pascal Dupuis ($3.750m)

I don't think this happens. I thought Pierre took himself out of the running. He is a very good friend of Shero's since they went to St. Lawrence together.

I'd rather focus on Western P.A. highschool single A hockey than ever watch and NFL game. |

Gibbons- Goc- Thorburn. After a full season in the NHL Brian Gibbons is going to be called a PK specialist by every announcer in the league. Then what will we do? |

I'm starting to get very nervous about this. Hiring a guy that hasn't had anything to do with NHL personnel decisions in 20 years is frightening. When's the last time this guy had any responsibility in the NHL? 1996! What the hell are they thinking!?!? |

Per reports. Pens trying to sign sundqviust (sp) and going to let Seymour walk... Seymour being the 9th best D on pens prospects by hockey futures. .. 6'4"/205 defensive defenseman. ... He can also score and contribute...
Something we don't need I guess |

Seymour is big but he's not good. He was always a long shot, and he'll never even get AHL time with our D prospects. |

Was Ruopp traded somewhere? Haven't heard about him. Seymour was never a top prospect....but than again there's Jake Muzzin ...or Matt Moulson |

Jayson Megna should be no part of this team ever. If Megna is the answer to Adams I would rather have Adams. |
