Ek, I think you are missing the obvious place for Jumbo, St. Louis. He will be the perfect #2 Center behind Backes, playing with two young kids and would thrive.
Plus, he would be terrible in the playoffs and we would lose again in the first round. He would fit in PERFECTLY!
The scary part is I could see us trading prospects and picks to actually do something like this, and Joe would waive his clause too. |

I could see St. Louis as a destination for Joe as well. He'd just be another reason I wouldn't want to play you guys, but you'd definitely be able to make a nice offer. |

How was Legwand? We sure could use a 3C in Edmonton, I thought he would be a good fit, if he can still skate. - Jeropotato
Legwand had bright spots, loads of speed. To me he needed more time to fit in to really see if he was worth anything worth re-signing, but with the DETs glut of centerman.. he could be a decent pick up for a team, a really good pick up for a young team like EDM. |

That's what I was thinking. We will probably draft Bennett or Draisaitl at #3, I would love to see a guy like him occuppy the 2C while these guys develop, and eventually be our 3C. I think he is the perfect choice for that sort of role. |

Well I didn't see Marleau ever get fired up, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen I guess. Frankly, I don't care which one they trade, I just hope that if they do, they get a good return for them. I think they are both major contributors to the team lack of playoff success and getting rid of either at this point is a step in the right direction for the Sharks. I wish them both all the best either way. - sjsharks92
I was more leaning to I think that is what Boyle was stating as being part of the solution not the problem. I'm ok if Patty is traded but I feel Joe HAS TO be traded or someone that has such leadership qualities it would over shadow what Joe lacks. |

Who though....I fully agree, but unless the Mark Messier of todays generation is ready to usurp Thornton it isn't going to happen. Pretty sure Toews aint going anywhere, and I can't think of anyone else. But yeah, someone with balls and ability needs to step in put that team on his shoulders. |

I agree with that. That's why I'm hoping the Sharks can sign Iginla this offseason. I think he would bring that leadership and fire that the team has so sorely missed, and would be able to spur and lead Thornton and Marleau. |

I don't think Wilson can get Iginla after saying he wants to get younger and meaner. I love Iginla but I wish it was 5 years ago and I'd be all for it. Right now I am not against him being a shark but I don't think it will be the impact that carries the team deep in the playoffs. |

I think either would be good, but I'd prefer Iginla. |

True, although one veteran signing for a future Hall of Famer wouldn't offset Wilson's plan of getting younger and meaner overall. Hell, Iggy can be mean. I think getting rid of guys like Boyle, Havlat, Hannan, and hopefully Stuart is more along the lines of what Wilson means by getting younger and meaner. |
