We said the same about Mike Richards. They're not two very different players. In fact a younger Richards developed much faster.
- SuperSchennBros

Yes, he did, but once Cout's develops a consistent offensive game, he will be that much better.
Consider this, he plays almost 20 minutes a game, and he still needs to develop his offensive game, he's going to be awesome when that happens.

Edit: Once I'm drinking, my hockey sense gets better!

who the hell knows what happen 2 years from now, let alone 5 or 10. it's not likely that all 4 of them will be on this roster in 5 years, and who knows what the circumstances will be.

i'm simply saying right now, laughton does not make those other players expendable.

So we're not trading Couturier for Byfuglien??

Yes, while he's 82, 83, 84, 85, he will back off, & then grow more impatient when he's 86, 87, etc

Your leaving Vinny out for the next 4
- puckhead17

Lecavalier and Laughton are the reasons why I think Schenn should be on the wing. I think a lot of us have seen Schenn play at every level. His specialty is his offense. He's been dynamic at every level. I think putting him at wing gives his offense a push.

You make a trade to make the team better. Not for the reasons you gave concerning Simmonds. Which weren't accurate in my opinion.

People who know more about Laughton than I do say he could play wing anyways.
- eayost

i think anyone good enough to make the nhl as a forward should be able to play either center or wing. obviously you might be better at one position but still. i don't understand the "he can't play wing" or "can't play center" bit, regardless of size.

Would you prefer what the Phillies have? Or the Sixers? Or a return to the days of Jay Snider?

Ed Snider has to be less meddlesome, but I'll take a guy who wants to win and demands success over a guy whose biggest concern is making a couple bucks.

I like Schenn better at center because I feel he's one of our 3 best centers and will be for the foreseeable future.

I believe he could adjust to wing, but he would need an ENTIRE season to get acclimated. It took Carter a while, but he's become a very good winger.

We've gotta cross our fingers for Couturier to develop his offense. he could turn out to be Manny Malhotra, which is still a very good player but not very offensive but was taken in the first round once apon a time.

I can understand not going from wing to center well considering face-offs and the difference in defensive responsibilities, but yea, I agree.
