Is there anyway what Harrington was floating could actually happen? Myers and St. Louis 1st next year to Florida for the #1 overall? I can't even imagine having the #1 and #2 pick this year. - The_Inkwell
I doubt FLA does that. How could they sell that to the 8 fans paying attention |

Bennett not being able to do 1 pull up - joshs
After everything they do there, I'm not overly concerned. Not being able to do one of the exercises shouldn't take away from every other one or what he does on the ice. |

Stolen from the Oilers blog:
Of the seven selections that the Oilers made in 2009, only Magnus Paajarvi (218 games) and Anton Lander (94 games) reached the NHL. In the four years since, Edmonton has seen just three of its picks from the second round and beyond graduate to the NHL.
Compare that to the Senators, who had six of their seven picks in 2008 reach the NHL and went 4-for-9 in 2009.
Tim Murray did all that work. Well, just about.
Damn, that feels good. |

I don't know much about all the kids about to be drafted, most everyone on this blog knows more about them then I do. I only looked into the 2 SAMs and Ekblad. I hope we get a chance to take Reinhart. |

Replace Myers with Ehrhoff and you got yourself a deal... - Jammerz04
Erhoff and St Louis 2015 first I would do . It would be painful if St Louis has a bad 2014 season . Not a believer in their goaltending and a few key injuries , who knows . My crystal ball is not working right now . Would serve them right for not signing Miller and Buffalo getting that other first.

I like his pedigree and as Murray has said he is the smartest player on the ice.

I agree let's hope we have a chance to get him if not I'm sure we get a very good player. I also understand that a D man like Ekblad is hard to come by. |

I think it is a mistake to only be considering the two Sams and Ekblad as their target. Murray has a history of target larger, stronger players. Draisatl could be in consideration. And, I know I'm no scout, but I don't see a lot of separation between the Sams and the top two Euros. Nylander might have the highest upside of any player in this draft. You also have to consider Dal Colle who is widely considered the best pure goal scorer and has a tad more height than Reinhart. All I'm saying is, this is a very fluid top of the draft. TM is probably trying very hard to figure out who other teams are targeting. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see them move down a couple of spots if they settle on somebody outside the consensus. |

If its Ekblad, nobody should be angry. If its anybody else but Ekblad, I could understand people being angry, but not "incredibly" angry.
Its definitely Reinhart for me. We have players with Bennett work ethic in the organization already (Girgensons, Compher, Baptiste, etc). I dont think we should pick Bennett over Reinhart purely because he competes hard. I for one am not a believer that Bennett's offensive game will translate to the NHL as well as Reinhart's will.

This . All depends on how Murray and company feel about Ekbald in the end. |

If they draft ekblaud I will be dissapointed. Great dmen can be found as late 1st round picks and in the 2nd round too far more often than a elite foward outside of the top 10 |

THE BUFFALO NEWS: Mike Harrington reports the Sabres could be tempted in selecting defenseman Aaron Ekblad in this year’s NHL draft. The Sabres hold the number two pick. Harrington cites two sources claiming Sabres GM Tim Murray was chatting with Panthers GM Dale Tallon last week. Tallon is willing to shop his pick (first overall). Harrington speculates over what it could cost the Sabres to land the first overall pick, including packaging a couple of second rounders, offering up next year’s first round pick acquired from the NY Islanders, or shopping a current roster player like Christian Ehrhoff or Tyler Myers.
Could get interesting around here! - Irish 14
That would be a horrible horrible trade just to move up one spot.

Why should any one of us be angry?
Are any of us professional scouts here?
If he picks Draisaitl, I will be thrilled and I will have to trust that Murray, Devine and the boys (and girls?) know what they're doing. |

Agreed.
Not to mention we have 4 1st round D-men already in our system. We need to start using our assets on elite forwards |

I've even heard speculation that Nick Ritchie could have the best career of any of these prospects, due to his Lucic-esque qualities.
Imagine drafting Reinhart & Ritchie this yr.. & Eichel next yr?
Now that's a scoring line! |

Never Once did it mention the 2nd overall.
The Sabres have 3 other 1st (not counting the 2nd pick this year) and 5 2nds in the next two drafts, along with ehrhoff to dangle to teams in the top 10. |
