The only situation they could have interest is after a buyout and even then other teams will go above what would make sense for their cap situation.
I think there is a real chance of a buyout. - Ryan_Wilson
he has lost his wheels
kings had him on the 4th line for many games this post season
$5 says he is bought out, and IMO whoever signs him needs to be on a 2 or 3 year deal
I have not seen a player so young, decline so quickly in the NHL |

Two major mistakes with this, Michael: 1) Calgary is not on the west coast. It's actually on the foothills of the Rockies. 2) Robyn was born in Brazil but grew up and played hockey in Saskatchewan. |

Anybody see Ek's blog about P Kane?
As much as I hate to say it because I don't agree with it, the Sabres will give up anything and everything to make sure Kane comes home to Buffalo. Picks, players, prospects, money, part ownership in the team....... nothing will stop them from getting him. I'm not trying to be a smarta$$ at all and please don't anyone take it that way but there is no way Buffalo doesn't get him, what makes it worse is we will still suck next year and if we get the first overall pick that will be a very good starting point.
Once again I don't agree with it if it happens but hard to say otherwise as of now, i'm sure half the league will be trying to grab him before that or after. Why rebuild and then give it all up. |

I really think Chicago locks him up this year.

If Kane really wants to come home and play, we won't have to give anything up. We'll just sign him July 2015.

I could be wrong but I don't see him wanting to play here or the Hawks letting him hit the open market. |

If I was Buffalo I wouldn't trade anything for him(or many people for that matter). If he was available as a free agent I would sign him for a mountain of cash, but not giving up assets and picks. I also don't see the Sabres going aggressively for him(unless its free agency).
Speaking of which, funny article on last nights ratings...

On the Kane subject, he has ZERO reason to be unhappy in Chicago and ZERO reason to want to leave. I think the conversation ends there. |

He might have ZERO reasons to be unhappy there and I'll agree who would want to leave a team that's been that successful. But just to play devils advocate look at what Chris Drury did. He had said he would bring any offer to the Sabres to match but decided he was going home.
Kane is a god in this city. He is a large fish in a huge ocean in Chicago but he would own this city if he was in Blue and Gold. |

He already owns Buffalo. Its always going to be waiting here for him. Chicago probably offers him far more privacy and autonomy. In Chicago you have a proven solid coaching situation, teammates that are great and probably great friends besides being great hockey players. In Buffalo you have a questionable coach, questionable goaltending, players like Erhoff who don't want to be here and an assortment of scrubs. I don't see it. |

It's not something totally uncommon. I know Chicago fans hate to hear it but there is a possibility it happens (Kane leaving). I am not saying its a good possibility but I think his agent knowing what kind of money Pegula would throw at him would get him a great deal.
On this topic say Chicago had to choose Kane or Toews who would you rather have? |

Toews. Not by a landslide though. Kane has been better than Toews the last 2 playoffs, but Toews is a franchise center, have to choose him IMO |

I doubt the Hoff is here after next season (if not sooner). I think the money would talk and he would listen. The Hawks can't pay him what the Sabres could |

Buffalo would probably have to make him the highest paid winger allowable by the CBA in order to land him. Is it worth it? Especially, since (at least we hope), they will have a lot of young talent to sign. |

If you would have asked me before last season it was Toews now I am starting to lead towards Kane. I know Toews is the franchise center that we desperately need but look at who Kane was playing with especially in the playoffs and still producing. |
