He almost didn't make it into the NHL, either. He broke both legs in a car accident when he was a teenager, and was told he would never play again. Guess the docs were wrong. He's always been a warrior. |

He was overused in expanded roles by the former regime in Buffalo and had he stayed with the Sabres, he may have ended up being a Craig Rivet-like train wreck.
I don't really view Rivet's tenure in Buffalo to be a train wreck.
I also don't really think of Regehr as a career "Sabre". I really could care less what he does.
I appreciate the write up though. |

I've always been a fan of his, despite his underwhelming performance here.
Great blogs, btw |

I hear ya...both were expected to be the backbone of a soft team...that would include being used in an enforcer role...imo, it took years off of rivet's career and would have done the same with regehr |

I think he may have been alluding to all the time Rivet spent in the trainer's room.

Will always remember the Regehr choke slam behind the net when someone would try and get around him |

If definitely put some miles on him. I respect the hell out of what Rivet did here. He took an underfunded, under motivated team on his back. I remember that pre season game where Rivet got in a fight against Toronto. He was named Captain by the players days later.

Not wrong if it is your opinion IDIOT!! lol
I always thought Pratt was under appreciated but RR was put in the WORST position here for his career |

At least we had the decency to realize that and put him in the best situation of his career. |

I always thought he might have been Darcy's best signing. Kinda reminded me of when Patrick was playing here at the end of his career. Nothing flashy, just steady and usually never in the wrong position. Played the angles. |
