They are improving, I agree.... But why would Boyle want to sign with a fringe playoff team at the end of his career? - PLindbergh31
Who knows. Money talks. Although it would be hilarious if he refuses to sign there and they lose a 5th rounder for nothing |

Teams like the Islanders and Oilers have such a hard time signing free agents.
When the Flyers negotiate with a free agent, they just need to match the top offer or slightly outpace everyone else in order to get the FA.
The Islanders need to significantly outpace everyone to get their guy.
Edit: Personally, I think the Islanders should use their money to get a more well rounded defenseman. Boyle is really just an offensive guy. He's not going to help out against top lines. - PhillySportsGuy
Any team who is having trouble attracting free agents and isn't re-signing their good players needs to take a look at their culture and how they treat their players. |

Them moving to a new arena and getting away from that wasteland Nassau could also help them. |

I think their arena is the worst in sports. |

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Draft-Eligible Forwards from Swedish Leagues, Quick Hits - bmeltzer
I think I'm more partial to drafting North American kids because there is less of a learning curve, you know that they want to be in the NHL and less complications bringing them over. There are young prospects who come over seas to play junior in Canada long before they are drafted, which makes me partial to those types of players as well. I believe Jake Voracek is an example of this. Unless a kid is lights out, I would try to take someone more adjusted to North America. |

I think there will be some contending teams interested in his services. I guess it's possible he signs with the Islanders. - PLindbergh31
I thought I read somewhere it was SJ or testing marketing. I personally would be suprised if he signs in NYI. Myabe he goes back to TB. |

Seeing as Vanek turned down 8 years/$8M (reportedly), I doubt Boyle signs unless it's stupid money, like 3 years @ $6.5M/year. |

I think some will. But for him, maybe going somewhere with a chance to win is more important. Maybe if Markov goes somewhere, Montreal takes him, or maybe he goes to a place like Dallas to help with blueline production. |

Wikipedia already has him as the Pens GM
It says he's a part owner of the Canes. Not sure if that's still true. |

With Doc Emrick out for Game 1 of the SCF, NBC used a guy Kenny Albert who is a radio guy during the season as it's lead announcer.
Why didn't Jim Jackson get the call? |

This year's draft might not have the sizzle of last year or the hype of 2015, but it seems like a fairly good crop, where a smart team can get value - Jsaquella
Yeah, I feel like there will be an even distribution of decent players (and busts) in the top-60 picks... maybe a few stars mixed in, too. Not the best draft, but not the worst either.
I'd be happy with any of the top 5 guys on Bill's list. |

I think Markov will get 3 years from someone. He's still a very good all around defenseman. Just has a fairly significant injury history.
I would sign Markov for 2 years in a heartbeat. |

He's a sack of monkey dung. He better not be back next year calling Flyers games. No one wants to hear his act anymore. |

Curious, isn't there a conflict of interests, he is a minority owner of the Hurricanes |
