It's not going to be easy to move Lecavalier. My only point is it's not impossible. I think that Lecavalier can bounce back and play better next season. - MJL
Just have to hope you are right. Going to be tough to move him |

Kings are really taking the body early, the Rangers don't seem as intent to match the hitting this game. |

I agree on both points but will address the bolded. Flyers fans tend to jump all over a player for one bad season. Vinny was injured most of last season. If vinny stays healthy and is producing 50-60 points his contract will look like a steal. Give him a chance to bounce back. |

And all the missing teeth. I wonder when that happened, because he doesn't have a bridge, yet.

Looks like a different and more 'hungry' Carter than the one we saw here.
Rangers seem to play a very calm game, putting teams to sleep. |

Impressive by Kopitar standing there watching a lawn jockey get position on him for a tap in.
How did Zucarello get from Belmont to LA in half an hour?
Guy just said Lundqvist looks like a movie star. |

If anyone can find a video of Voynov touching Doughty on the bench to calm him down and post it, I would give you a case on potato pancakes.
Looks like he is grabbing his junk. They showed it on CBC. Hilarious |

Sure, he can bounce back, but does he fit into the scheme and the line up?
The coach, hired after Lecavalier was signed, is using a scheme that calls for more skating and two way play. If Hextall does really want to follow the Lombardi model, puck possession will be emphasized as well. These are two areas where Lecavalier struggled badly the last two seasons, injured or not.
As far as giving him a chance to bounce back, if he's here we will really have little choice. |

There are just so many VL haters right now. Not only was he injured but iirc this is the first time in his career he's ever had to adapt to playing on a new team with entirely new teammates.
I'm not opposed to trading him (he was tough to watch at times) - but trade him for fair value while he's playing well - not just to dump salary. |

What if he doesn't bounce back? What if he doesn't play well again? As tough as it might be to move him now, another subpar season might make it impossible.
At that point, they might be facing a buyout. If they end up buying him out next summer after another bad year:
Vincent Lecavalier buyout from CapGeek.com
2015-16: $2,888,889
2016-17: $2,888,889
2017-18: $2,388,889
2018-19: $888,889
2019-20: $888,889
2020-21: $888,889

I agree. There aren't very many players that I dislike on this team but this team had it's issues even before signing Lecavalier. The worry early in last year's offseason was whether or not Timonen would return. Well, we resigned him short term but signed Streit longer term. Streit clearly cannot replace what Timonen brings, so the rush to trade for and sign Streit was a head scratcher. I digress but the point is, the defense still isn't perfect either. Regardless of who stays and who goes, it might take some time to find a balance all the way through the line up. |

If not playing well is 20 goals and 37 points in 69 games with back injuries, doing everything thats asked of him from playing wing to playing 4th line... I take the chance on him. The cap will most likely go up in 2015 and maybe thats affordable - idk.
I think to unload him at this point we are eating salary or taking back a contract like we did with Gagne BUT consider if VL bounces back and is pacing for a 55-60 point season, winning 50% of his faceoffs, he'd command a kings ransom on a contender (like a jagr, or iginla)... should we decide to trade him at the TDL. Last season was really a statistical anomaly other than the injury factor (again). Its not unreasonable to expect him to bounce back to his 2012-13 form.
I'm not against trading him - for value - but to just salary dump I think we will regret it, especially as injuries pile up. I'd look to dump grossmann if we really needed to send someone packing for cap space + no NTC. |

I wonder if anyone has bothered to look up the Flyers record with and without him in the line up. Everyone thanks to Corsi is too fixated on what he's done while he's been in, all the while ignoring his injuries. He ends the season on the fourth line, so suddenly it has been written in stone that is where he'll remain? Really?? |
