Me too, but if it's a guy from LA, I won't be surprised if it's not done until after the draft. If he's bringing in a guy who was involved in LA's draft prep and inner workings, why would they release him right before the draft to go to Philly?
Who knows, maybe it'll be an in house guy like Pryor or Brown? Maybe Paddock gets the nod, he's been an assistant GM in the past and is regarded as a good scout & evaluator. - Jsaquella
Still think Jeff Twohey should be on the list. |

I agree whole heartedly. I'd hire him now, and beat the rush. guy has a great knowledge of the OHL and would be an immediate asset. |

I'm gonna guess Pryor or Brown. It would certainly fit the Flyers' corporate pattern. |

True, but at one time they brought in Don Luce from Buffalo and Pryor came from New York |

Gotta feeling it is going to be someone from LA. Most guys, only get one chance to be a GM in the league. Gotta feel Hexy would be more comfortable with a right hand man he has worked with for years, over an in-house candidate he has worked with over the last year.
I have to believe when he was recruited to be Homer's successor last summer, giving him autonomy to name his staff would probably have been given. Why else would he do a lateral move otherwise?

Very true.
I agree. How they fill that spot will be interesting to watch. It will give an idea of what's what nowadays, strategically. |

It's also possible that he's not sure who it will be yet. I think the transition plan was supposed to be another year or maybe two, but with the various openings and other teams having interest in Hextall, they figured it's better to promote him than risk him jumping to another team. |

That makes sense also. It was just odd to see him make a lateral move without certain promises made. Remaining the Kings organization would have still gotten opportunities to interview for other GM jobs.
I am very interested to see what the plan going forward is from Hexy. I hope Coots as DVR'd this Cup final and watched intently on how Kopitar plays the game. He is such a dominate two-way player, I really didn't appreciate his talents at both ends until this playoff run. Very impressive.

Yeah, I was aware of Koitar being a good player, but his prowess at both ends of the ice has been a real eye opener for me. He's a tremendous player, and I'd have to say easily a top 5 guy in the entire NHL. |

It's hilarious how they conveniently forget how the ref's incompetence is a major reason they are even still playing in the first place. |
