There's our new asst GM, after Barroway buys the Isles and fires him - Jsaquella
I was hoping they were keeping the seat warm for Shero. |

Bieksa for B.Schenn is what I'm hearing will go down at the draft. You guys will love him in Philly. - Nucker101
You might post a link to the blog, legitimate outlet, or paste the tweet here. Otherwise it's unsubstantiated and against the CoC.

I hear the following are also up for discussion:
- Increasing the number of players from each team on the ice from 6 to 11.
- Changing the puck from a hard rubber disc to an oval-shaped pigskin
- Allowing players to pass the puck using their hands.
- Changing the ice to astroturf
It will be interesting to see how many of these make it. - jmatchett383
and they will be replacing Mike Milbury with Terry Bradshaw |

I'd be ok with that. I don't think he's a great GM, but he'd bring experience to the table |

Interesting the Kings have two Directors of Amateur Scouting.

If Hexy is as serious about player development as he has led on, I would think his assistant GM would have an extensive recent background in amateur scouting. I will be interested to see who he selects. I would be surprised and a little disappointed if he promoted from within the Flyers organization at this point.

Hmmm..... President of the Belleville Minor Hockey Association. It is related job experience on his resume, might just need a little more experience to apply for the job. But hey, maybe Hexy really goes outside the box on this hire.

Maybe Darryl Stanley and Antoski would make a good one two punch in the scouting department and Dave Brown could get promoted to assistant GM. |

Here's another:
On an icing only one guy can take draw. If there's a violation, he doesn't get tossed, but warned. Second violation is a minor for delay of game - Jsaquella

Dennis Rasmussen till Chicago Blackhawks, stor fett grattis till dig som uppnått din dröm! Hoppas verkligen din sejour i NHL blir succé!
not sure what is being said here other than Rasmussen, Chicago Blackhawks and NHL.
Edit: damn it! - wilsonecho91
of course he signed with the blackhawks. they take our old players, our should be draft pickes, and our future unsigned free agents. it's getting annoying. |

Last night I was kind of thinking outloud and I left a long post of rambling, so I decided to try again.
Ron Hextall is coming from a team that has a legit number one defenseman in Drew Doughty. We do not have a Drew Doughty. Getting a Drew Doughty will be a tall task. So I ask, if getting Shea Weber meant keeping both Luke Schenn and Nicolas Grossmann, while not resigning Timonen and shipping Coburn plus to Nashville. Would you do it? The future is bright for Nashville as far as defenseman with offensive ability and nice puck moving ability but they might be missing a capable shut down defenseman if Weber is moved. Laviolette knows Coburn. Laviolette knows exactly what Coburn can do. Coburn might even be to Laviolette, what Hatcher was to Hitchcock in the late 90's. So does it make sense for Nashville to trade Weber for let's say Coburn (who is roughly the same age as Weber), two high draft picks and a young player of theit choosing not named Couturier? Personally I don't think Nashville will ever get fair value for a Shea Weber.
Also would you dangle Voracek to Toronto or Ottawa for Ryan or van Riemsdyk? This isn't a knock against Voracek but I do feel either guy is an upgrade to play with Giroux. While Voracek has nice speed for a player his size, great hands and impressive passing ability, both Ryan and JvR have impressive hands as well but specialize in their accurate shot. We need that. Giroux needs this.
What's on the UFA market just isn't doing it for me. Sure you can fill holes that way but not the way we need. I say try and take advantage of a team that needs to make room for cap space or looking to move on from certain players that clearly have no future where they currently are. - SuperSchennBros
i'm thinking about if it's possible for any of your posts to be shorter than this one?

New stuff next year:
-proposed making trapezoid bigger to allow goalies more room to play puck
-proposed switching goals at start of OT and giving ice a "dry scrape" in an effort to eliminate shootouts
-proposed widen hash marks on zone face offs to five feet apart rather than 3.5 to reduce scrums - Jsaquella
- how about they just eliminate the trapezoid all together? stop limiting the goalies. enough already.
- how about they just eliminate shootouts (since they obviously feel there are too many), and go with a 10 minute OT. tie after. it will take the same amount of time.
- whatever.

Ok so....
I hate challenges in any sport besides football. It makes sense in football to review touchdowns and catches, but in any other sport it's stupid.
Besides...what the hell would hockey need a challenge for anyway? To see if a puck hit the glass on the way out of play?
Stupid stupid stupid.
I like all the other proposed rule changes, but the delay of game penalty is rough after a faceoff violation. I think the best way to do that is to have the center of the team that iced the puck move 6-10" back from the dot. Or, maybe prohibit that player from taking the draw in the first place? Have a winger take it? |

that used to be a rule. i don't know what happened to it.
i've also heard about not allowing teams to change after ANY stoppage. i can't imagine that would ever pass. |
