They at remaking "IT"
Gonna be a two-part movie, and this time will be rated R (instead of "made for tv")... So it should be pretty rad - jdfitz77
last half of the made for tv movie fizzled out IMO |

To borrow from my St. Louis Rams GM, ideally you draft a QB every year. (Said the man going with Sam Bradford until eternity, apparently. Overrated, if you ask me.)
I think the same applies to goalies. Sabres seem to have a clump at the same stage, but you still have almost 2 years before having to sign a freshly-drafted prospect, and even longer if they are in college. If you think the guy is an above-average talent, maybe you move up slightly (<1/2 a round) to do so. Otherwise, I wait and see what happens/falls to me. Goalies are truly too much of a crapshoot these days. Blues won Jennings Trophy 2 years ago with 2 7th round picks, drafted 9 spots apart--Halak and Elliott!
BTW, Buffalo's my 2nd favorite team, so I want to see them do well. I just think they need to clear up goalie prospect controversy a bit before investing high picks on more. I'm sure another year will shed some light on who to count on as prospects going forward. My money's on Enroth or Neuvirth traded in the season and opening a spot for Hackett/competitors to sink or swim. Whoever's RFA status show up in summer 2015 will get chance to prove he's part of solution or he's on his way elsewhere.
That said, not sure goalie of the future is on their roster anywhere just yet. |

draft nothing but euros and goalies in rds 5-7
and draft a goalie every year
the sabres biggest problem over the years, is the best 22/23 players are not with the big club

Could be
Its a toss up between him, Kopitar, Gaborik, Carter & Doughty
They've all been very good
No one has really separated themselves IMO |

Even though we don't have many prospects with "top line" potential...
We do have a whole bunch that look like 2nd liners
Maybe we can trade some of the excess for a young goalie
Sucks we missed out on Bernier last summer, but there's other guys out there we might be able to get for the right price

Don't see why not
LA should wanna keep him
As long as he doesn't demand a huge contract
I actually picked LA to win the cup in my playoff pool bc I liked the way they looked with Gaborik on that top line
The moved reminded me of when they picked up Carter to boost scoring & won the cup
Although I also picked Detroit to come out of the East, so what do I know? Hahaha
Didn't think Zetterberg would miss time, and I liked the way their young kids played in the 2nd half
Oops... Stupid boston

That was my thought, but then you have Kopitar with 20+ assists, Gaborik I think with record # of goals in one playoff?
But I think I lean towards Williams for the award
EDIT: nm, Gaborik isn't close to record goals scored in a playoff season |

What sucks is I kind of like the Islanders, but until that loser GM is gone I'll revel in their stupidity. - stashu
One more year I'll bring the hate train to the Islanders. Then, I'll go back to feelin' for em. |

"All they need is a top 6 winger, a starting goalie, a new coach and 2 top 4 d-men" - ImThatGuy
All the Sabres need is 3 competent forwards..and probably a real goalie.. and 3 more years of experience. |

Well this year we get one. Next year is looking really good to get 2 if the Isle continue on this path. |

They draft 5th, don't forget, and are probably shopping that pick too for more immediate help.
A healthy Tavares + a decent goalie in Halak should make them halfway decent. |

Nabakov was also a decent goalie. Tavares and Okposo and nobody else. Hopefully they walk into the season without a real linemate for Tavares. |

How 'bout TM taking the Isles' #5 this year in exchange for the Blues' 1st next year and one of our seconds this year....#31? They get, essentially, a first-rounder this year and Snow saves face by getting back into the first round of next year. Throw in Stewart if need be and sign Moulson over the summer for some veteran presence and scoring. |

I highly doubt they sacrifice a top 5 pick for merely another 2nd round pick and one that will most likely be in the 20's next year. |
