myers was a trade up at the behest of devine...Lombardi sat at 12, Regier at 13...they wrote names on a napkin...if the names were the same, they'd keep the spot...if they were different, they'd switch...kings took colton teubert after trading the 12th to buffalo
- Michael Pachla

So that move was a Regier call and not Devine? Most here credit Devine with our better drafts of late, so it's kind of interesting to see this was something Regier insisted on (if I'm understanding it right).

There's a fine line between a great goalie and merely a good goalie, but that line can make the difference between winning and losing.

I guess we'll have to see what TM does. I'm trusting him until I'm given a reason not to. I don't think we'll know that verdict until 5 years from now.

Looking forward to this draft like no other draft in recent memory

That line really doesn't exist anymore. These days it's lundqvist then a gluten of goalies who are all really good but have their moments. Recent trends show that if the team up front is great, your goalie just has to get the job done as opposed to constantly stealing them.

I just realized the other day that I'll be driving up to Buffalo on draft day... I'll either be driving during the draft or in a hotel somewhere along the way. Either option has me not being in a good spot to pay attention to the draft....

Devine was adamant about and insistent upon drafting Myers...pretty sure that's the way it went down

That sucks.

I'm hoping it's an eventful one on our part.

It would be nice if the analysts were discussing the "bold moves of Buffalo GM Tim Murray"

I can see your point, but only one team wins it. That argument can and does go both ways.

idk, indy...for some reason I really like Hackett and think he's an nhl'er...at least...I like his old-school demeanor...will it work in today's nhl?...*shrugs*...probably moreso than enroth's size (or lack thereof)
- Michael Pachla

he could be a back up i don't know about anything more. i think one of him or enroth should be moved and the rest should play out as i listed this season.. no reason to keep hacket in the AHL and take time from Leiuwen and Makarov

Today, I completely agree. As much as I think Quick is over rated, I do think he is a top 5-10 goalie no doubt. I just think it is funny how some are held to other standards than others.

If we could draft a Quick/Rask caliber goalie by moving up to 25 or so, I'd do it

i think that line lies more in the defense and team play more than the goale

At this point, I would think Murray would get more for Enroth, yes? He's shown he can play very well for stretches. A team looking for a decent b/u could be enticed.

I pay for gamecenter, so hopefully the app will still work? That's my hope at least.

When he won the cup he was hardly challenged. 3 times in the series against New Jersey he faced less than 20 shots.

His regular season numbers outside of 1 season have been nothing spectacular, and this postseason the Kings are winning in spite of him.

He has some of the worst numbers of any goalie this post season. Yet they probably will win the cup.

He has been called the "best big game goalie in the NHL" Yet has had games where he lets in 3 goals on 7 shots in a game 7.

I was just having this conversation about Quick with my cousin (LA is his second favorite team) he agreed that Quick has been extremely average this post season that his over aggressive style (a la Tim Thomas) doesn't get exploited mostly because of the team in front of him. He had a great run 2 years ago but has been pretty average since then.

I have that too, but I'd rather have the national coverage, but thanks for the added idea/option.

Well that doesn't work cause Quick doesn't have Kane score on him on a breakaway...oh wait
