I agree. And it's not like we need his offense. Guy never tries at all.

Why is it that you love talented, inconsistent and soft players like that?

Well it must be because you keep saying they are getting a second for his rights.

Kovalev at least looked like he cared about being in Montreal even though he didn't give a consistent effort.

I would have to question your description of him as inconsistent. His career numbers are pretty consistent. Now, if you want to make him into that guy who chases pucks into corners and hustles back on every play, and is the rah-rah team guy, then you'll be disappointed for sure. If you just want 30ish goals per season, then he's someone your team would need.

I'm sorry, but I don't see the excitement in giving 7M$+ to a 60-ish points player for 8 years

Unless the Habs unload him to the Rangers for their top defense prospect in a few years and he plays like poop there.

you know who everyone called talented, inconsistent and soft until recently? Jeff Carter. know who else? Marian Gaborik.

look it takes all sorts of players to win. it would be wonderful if every player was Janthan Toews or Anze Kopitar. but that's not how it is. you need highly skilled players to win games.

i don't get the hate towards this guy. i mean we trade for him, the team goes from a bubble playoff team to a 100-point team fighting for home ice, then we win more playoff games than we have in 20 years. and somehow all of that is in spite of him.

Is it your money?

Unless...Oh. You must be Geoff Molson. Sorry sir, we had no idea that we were talking about your ACTUAL money.

ok fine. but you've seen the results. so next year, when Rene Bourque or Brian Gionta are playing 20 minutes a game and scoring 30 points, don't complain that we have no one to play on the top lines.
