No?? - burn
Actually, Chara has the hardest shot, and also a fitness nut, he has under 6% body fat, and yes, he can do many pull ups. |
|
|
|
That has nothing to do with shooting. And you don't have to defend yourself if you cry enough.
- SolidGoldBricks
I only concider cry baby crosby when he whined like when he was 18-19 and this years playoffs. female dog move.
Chirping him for crying then okay but with the punishment he goes through every game I bet you couldn't last 1. |

Sarcasm. I'm feeling really sassy today.
I'm feeling sassy and brassy. Have you guys seen Nathan Horton's arms? Them are massive! (not sarcastic) - SolidGoldBricks
Don't bother, he is just looking to piss people off today, and his pink friend is on side with him.. |

Pull ups and chin ups are different things.
But both are easy to do if your chin is already above the bar. |

Very few top players other than Ovenchicken ever really do well in the brute strength aspect of the combine. Guys like Tyler Lewington and Bogdan Yakimov were smoking everybody because they're like 6'4 240lbs at 18. - AdamFrench
Issue for me is the lack of preparedness... It's no that he needs to be able to do chin-ups to make he NHL... But he damn well knew for years now that he'd have to do them at the combine. And sure, scouts probably don't care how many you can do, but not being able to do any will definitely get noticed in a bad way. |

They will beat Italia - AGalchenyuk27
I hope so. But the Italians will probably find a way to dive their way to a win.... |

That's only because they can't find a bar high enough so his feet aren't touching the ground. |

Don't think the point being made is that arm strength is more important than leg and core strength in hockey. However, having upper body strength can clearly help you be a better hockey player. Also..Jones is a solidly built kid while his arms aren't huge he has some brute strength. It's why he can compete at the NHL level so young. How many small guys actually have amazing NHL careers? St. Louis..ever see that guys arms and upper body? Helps tremendously to have upper body strength. |

For 9 million dollars a year I could. And I'm a Crosby fan, I just think the picture is funny and was looking for an excuse to use it today. |

Yeah I agree. Not even 1 at this point is just sad. I still find it hard to believe, was it late in his routine and he'd been puking for hours or something?
It's (frank)ing 1. |

Yes exactly. Arm strength definitely helps. I think any strength helps. But I don't think chin ups are a good representation of what a player will be like in the NHL. Especially if Byfuglien can really do 12. |

I didn't say that so learn to read before you put words in my mouth.
This NHL is different, Gretzky didn't need strength, just still. He had other people being the muscle. In todays game you need to defend your own. - CanadianBodmon
You are right, Pat Kane is always kicking ass and taking numbers, just seen him hit some dude with a stone cold stunner, Some of the top scorers this year Seguin, Giroux, Kessel, Backstrom, Joe Pavelski all are huge, Marty StLouis, Erik Karlsson these guys are always defending defending their own |

No but let's face it, if you weigh 160-170 pounds in the NHL you better have some core and upper body strength to go along with your legs. |
