You were arguing that the smaller stars in todays league do just fine without being jacked (in reference to the great one not having muscle) and I told you they we're in great shape and strong for their size.

I agree legs do more than arms for shooting. So no problem than that.

Also pretty clear that strong arms does not mean better shot. Shooting is all about quickness. The hardest shots come from guys hitting the ground several inches behind the puck, or wristers. None of that has any bearing on the size/strength of ones arms.

Yes it does... more strength to push the stick into the ice + weight to push on the stick. Most of it comes from weight transfer in your legs though.

It does make a difference, it's just not the be all end all. Most of the smaller weaker players do quick wristers anyways to beat the goalie not in position.

Its the charas and ovechkins of the nhl who just blow the puck past you.

It does help shoot harder. Just not significantly. There's a reason the bigger stronger guys shoot harder. More strength into the ice to flex the stick + weight behind the shot.

Smaller guys have the quick shots.

Arms still are needed. Fending off other players.

You see the story about the Sabres trying to bring the combine to their new facility?? The NHL used to allow teams to invite player to their facilities to do on ice workouts (Basketball does it) but they put a stop to this. The sabres said they would make ice in their new facility for any on ice activities they see fit if they win the bid.
