Michael Pachla: Target practice: Three worth trading up for... - Michael Pachla
Great topic, nice analysis. You could definitely see Murray looking to fill out the prospect ranks at LW, though I need to get my head away from the Dave Andreychuk model and think through someone with more mobility than a moose frame and good hands. |

they're right there for buffalo...all depends upon what they'd want for that 25th overall |

Yup, with the Bruins in "win Now" mode and a decent spec base they could certaionly afford to move the RD1 and get a little something nice in return. Sabres have a lot of nice pieces they could move |

Thats who I want the Avs to draft at 23 if hes still there, or Brendan Lemieux. I think by the time hit the drafts is in the 20th pick range, its a free for all since the prospects seem so even at that point |

you know, marcus foligno in your bottom six is an interesting scenario...big guy, strong...can work the corners, has an offensive side to him...also has an edge with just a touch of nasty which he hasn't brought out consistently in buffalo yet...not sure if he ever will here |

With all the praise on the prospects later in the first round, I'm starting to believe what has been said that this draft is deeper than some think. |

Nice writeup...
I like Nik Ehlers if the Sabres move up (although he may go top 10) and I'm hoping Tim Murray will try to steal Evander Kane away from the Peg as that would help our rebuild quite nicely.
Also, this draft will really show what kind of player/team is "Tim Murray Style". we have some indications, but this is his first real chance being the head honcho. Should be fun to watch. |

never loved him as a player BUT a 3rd line in BOS of
Foligno - Soderberg - Eriksson would be a great 3rd line to hold posession and cycle down low. |

foligno's still only 22...not sure he has much of a ceiling, but put him with some talent and he could be a top-nine guy while throwing in a surprisingly big year now and again
edit: btw...really like soderberg...that was a nice find |

Yup he's been a beauty, and only cost Hannu Toivenen at the time, which makes it even better... Crazy to think, technically, last year was his first real NHL season... Should be getting better and better |

Paille part deux...
asked to do too much on a Sabres team lacking talent, then moved to a stacked team where he flourishes in a limited/defined role. |

TBH, Boston is the only place I do not want Foligno to go. He fits the Boston mold perfectly. Would bring even more toughness to a team already loaded with it. |

Would make them a scary matchup... Not many 3rd or 4th lines could match up with a 3rd line built like that |

Why would the Sabres want to help the freaking Bruins get tougher??
F that concept!
We will find another partner to dance with!

Ya know, Seguin and Reinhart draw a lot of similarities.
Seguin: "A very talented center with great skills in all three zones. An excellent playmaker but also a very efficient finisher. A good skater with good size. "
Reinhart: "Reinhart is a nice blend of poise, maturity and a high hockey IQ. He's got creative hands, excellent vision and superb instinct in the offensive end. He's able to slow things down and dissect the play. He battles hard and is a true team leader."
Both 200' players with +100 point draft year seasons. Kept similar point outputs at equal ages. Excellent playmakers. Both captained their junior team. It even seems that Reinhart is possibly the better product. Although I think Seguin had/s a better projection to score more goals, where as Reinhart may be more of the Joe Thorton ilk. - TheSabresTaco
Seguin has top end speed though. |
