Why not just get a player like him when we are starting to get competitive...? Why now...? If we want a role-playing mentor for the kids, we can just pick one up in free agency, without having to give up assets.

The days of the high priced running back are over, IMO. the difference between a good and great back is slim, and heavily depends on the play of the o-line.

i think we need to move some of our middling prospects along with picks (and ehrhoff, foligno, and one of the goalies) to get more high end.. then throw money at some old dude that should have retired... like briere or Hrudey
