A lot of good leaders out there.............
Steve Ott
Matt Moulson
Ryan Callahan
Mike Richards
Just to name a few, I understand some don't like a couple on the list and that's ok. - SABRES 89
A former NHL GM called Tim Connolly and Derek Roy "2 of the top 20 centers in the NHL"
they should be added to your list |

You're wrong on this one . Stafford has career year . Flourishes under Nolan . Gets good return at trade deadline. Hard to believe but this time you are wrong . Besides they need to keep what little Salary they have to reach cap floor . Amazing how contract years make Stafford look like a better player . No GM is going to look at long term , when they are considering this year playoff run this year . Amazing how players having career years can fool GM's - See Clarkson. - Maximum Signal
I guess we won't know until the deadline. Unless he ends up on a 40 goal pace, you are going to be disappointed. Even then, I'm not totally convinced. Also, I know certain people seem to think Ted Nolan can work some sort of magic voodoo on players, and turn career underachievers into superheroes, but the type of offensive talent that Stafford had last "contract year" isn't anywhere near what it is this year. In 2011, it wasn't stellar, but it's miles better than what he'll have to work with this year. Also, offense has never been Nolan's forte. |

Agreed. I'd rather sign some of those guys to get to the floor than waste a pick on someone who does the same thing. There are others, I'm sure, but free agency doesn't interest me in the slightest and I'd rather not look it up. |

How is it wasting a pick? All these years we have talked about getting stanely cup winning exp here. Now all of the sudden we don't need it because it is going to cost one of 6 2nd rd picks the Sabres have? |

IMO no we have to give a little more, maybe a player. - SABRES 89
Nope , they are looking to buy him out . They save a ton of dough and get a pick . No More is needed.

1st sentence. Sarcasm detected.
2nd. He will be 35/36 when the contract is up. I would think the Sabres could get 4 decent years out of him. |
