The difference, though, is only one of them was ever expected to be a top pairing defenseman. $4 million per year isn't top defenseman money, never was, and never has been. - buffalofan19
I don't get what that has to do with anything though. He was signed to be exactly what he is, a 2nd pairing defensemen. I think we would all agree Myers was given too much money way too early. However he has proven he can play up to that contract even in big moments like the Flyers series.
If they keep Ehrhoff, It won't bother me one bit. His contract is fine. However it would make little sense to me to keep him, and trade the 24 year old whos value isn't where it will be in 2 years |

They both took turns being train wrecks that 1st season. Ehrhoff and Myers had awful starts to that season. I remember them both ending the season playing incredibly well until both got hurt during our run to 9th.
Ehrhoff played great during a short 48 game season, Myers was bad for the 1st half. Fact is, neither have proven to be a consistent top pairing defensemen and the one is entering his prime, while the other is falling out.
Finding forwards to suit Ehrhoff sounds as silly as finding a center to build around Callahan - sbroads24
I would argue the Hoff as been our most consistant Dman since hes been here and up till the end of last season has been good for this team.At some point you want to win tho and play for a winning team again.Hes in his prime and wont be when this teams good again. |

Yet he was back at work the next day. This lawsuit is going nowhere.

Which is why I think you'll get the most for him now and moving him makes more sense than moving a guy like Myers, who should be entering his prime when this team is a playoff team again. |

He definitely has been the most consistent. He's also a really good player.
He's like Jonny Oduya, great skating 2nd pairing minute eater. The question is do you move him? IMO you see what you can get. |

I know he doesn't have the best reputation, but you'd like to think that professional athletes just don't go out and beat the snot out of someone randomly. When was the last time that actually happened. |

Especially since they knew of each other and that the possibility of getting sued after beating his ass. |

If I had a choice id keep a happy consistant Hoff over an often injured Myers with potential but I see your side as well and your points are valid. |

If he doesn't want to be part of a rebuild or play for this team anymore yes of course. |

Figured either him or Bennett. Do you think the sabres would take Ekblad if he doesn't go #1? I know you guys have a ton of good D prospects already but it would be hard to pass up on him, no? - Vukota
Frank off, go talk hockey in your own thread...sheesh, you act like it got derailed there or something......

Seems like you are missing the point on the Ehrhoff debate but I digress |

I wasn't lobbying for trading Myers either. There's a disconnect here somewhere. |

I hope there's no hard feelings, though I see it all coming back up again with people catching up. If you or any of your compatriots have an issue with me, feel free to PM me or if you need, CaptEO is in charge of us.
