frim IPB:
Well, today's sale rumor comes from Craig Carton of the Boomer and Carton show on WFAN Radio. This morning on their broadcast, Carton said on air that he was told that the Islanders sale is done and will be announced after the Stanley Cup Finals end. |

I have no idea if he is selling or not just like you don't know - Vukota
The whole sale idea has never made any sense at all to me but it became very real when Barroway rounded up the investors to meet Wang's Dr. Evil-like demand.
For Wang, the guy has lost over $200 million and is just now entering an era where the team will become profitable and it might actually be fun to be the teams owner. He has an inflating cable contract, great stadium, expanding fanbase in metro NY, soon more media attention, marketing potential etc...and he decides he'll sell NOW?
But of course he may have felt this way as well and thrown $400 million out there as a 'over the moon' request and was shocked to find that Barroway accepted the notion...so now he's met with the reality of figuring out if he'll actually do it. |

According to IPB, Craig Carton mentioned the sale is done and would be announced after the finals. This story continues to be all over the map. - ses111

He has no clue about hockey or any other sport to be honest. He is just entertainment - kasperrko
He grew on me. The 7 minutes to the train station are entertaining for sure, despite Boomer's constant whining. |

This argument would hold water if this wasnt going on YEARS before Snow, Cappy, or Wang even got here. Im not saying they are faultless.. but Players havent wanted to play on the Island for a VERY long time. Linden didnt want to be here, Wendel Clarke didnt want to be here, Steve Yzerman didnt want to be here.. as we know Kirk Muller didnt want to be here. Since the current regimen wasn't even part of the organization at the time, what else is there that could have been the issue? it wasnt YEARS of losing, because well we were only about a decade removed from a dynasty... The Building.. its lack of amenities, its smell, its crappy ice surface has A LOT bigger impact them you seem to understand.
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
Yeah it's because they are just as inept as past regimes. Nobody wants to play for a bunch of clueless clowns. Reality |

No way you just used this dingbat as a source for a hockey related story. An Islanders hockey related story. - hscesq
I have no idea if this is true or not. It's not out of left field that this guy can hear something related to a hockey sale. Carton is not unlocking the secrets of the universe. |

Didn't Staple just say a couple days ago that Snow would know by the end of the week? Maybe Boyle is kicking the tires a bit? - Cptmjl
maybe he saw all those zeros on the offer that Snow sent over, and hes waiting to see if they throw something bigger at him, before he decides if he wants to negotiate something even bigger and longer... it may not be about length, but its always about girth!

Well, this does at least to appear that he's giving it some consideration, which is good news. Had it been a 'hell no' he would have told us right away.
That said, if he still tells us 'no' after wasting a considerable amount of time between now and his free agency, the guy should be prepared for a lot of venom from this fanbase...especially if he ends up in our division. - keaner17
Wonder if this Isles sale (preliminary of course) has any weight on his decision making? Meaning that if announcement will be after finals, that Boyle is checking w/new ownership to see what possible changes could occur?
or just pipe dreaming... |

I am actually hoping we trade him and maybe get something back in return. Maybe make a little package deal - kasperrko
No...we need him to sign. This team can't continually have players like Vanek and Boyle rejecting decent offers to go elsewhere. Whether the world's perception of Snow and Wang is accurate or not, this team is reaching better times and we can't have their growth slowed by another bad PR situation |

I think I understand what you are saying... But KO & Josh are 2 separate situations. KO had the skill but was a lousy skater, with horrible balance issues. He always had the heart & was always trying out there.
Josh not so much, the kid can skate, he can shoot, he can pass, but he has zero heart. You can teach fundamentals to a player, but heart cant be taught.. you have it or you don't.. he does not.
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
I agree on the heart, or Josh Bailey would a great player. I blame Cappy a bit for that. this guy has never been able to get. but KO seemed to lack the intensity (its was probably more a result of him being concussed the year before) but he found it. Let hope Josh finds it. I was hoping it was last year. But reality is he is a very round player.
Im not sure why but why hasnt Bailey ever been allowed to play with JT? |

VERY possible. If you're his agent, you might say..well...let's sit tight here and see what happens. We have some rumors that new ownership is coming in.

Lets not forget that balloon loan payment that is owed soon...... sell a good chunk of the team so its not his payment to make.

agreed...never believed that wang would sell when there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel, even with all the rumors of a sale, it still cant believe it cause it just makes no sense to me.... |

We'll see if that plays a factor. I'm pretty sure he could defer that, especially in light of where this team is heading. The banks will be awfully forgiving with a sum like that on the line. |

on Boyle - I actually think no answer could mean that maybe he will sign.
So maybe someone can help me here? Since we have his rights, can we allow him to speak to others. B/c what i would do is make our offer. (which will be way higher than any contender) then let him talk to DET, LA, BOS and CHI (known of which need him), give his agent till end of next week. then eithe he signs or we flip him. |

i dont think its the worst thing if he doesnt sign...from a team strength standpoint AND a PR standpoint...lots of players want to choose who they play for. |
