Question for you Isles fans, I am considering KO in a trade, keeper league. I love the guy and really think he broke out last year for good. Do you guys think he will stay healthy and repeat? Will he stay a fixture with JT? Thanks - flyerdude17
His Breakout season came b/c he finally spent the off season working out wih JT, Strome, Moulson...etc. This led to him finally starting well and not just finishing the season strong (Bailey). He is working out with them again.. so I would make the trade. |

Eight 20-goal scorers?
What are you, the '83 Oilers now?
I love the optimism, though!

Zero shot he knew they did not win the cup that year.. zero. Picks a team that lost to the Islanders as his example of dominance. |

I know I am in minority (shocker) but I want them to keep the pick. I wany Nylander if he is there.. and then I want them to move up and grab the kid from Long Island last first round Milano. http://www.mynhldraft.com...aft-Profiles/Sonny-Milano - niteislander
I keep hearing that Nylander is rising, plus that Washington is trying to move up and get him. Wonder if that could be a match to swap 1st's and Caps throw isles something??? |

I still think Vanek thinks long and hard to come back here to reunite with JT |

regardless of his "off shifts" he was contributing offensively and more capable of backchecking than moulson. I'd welcome him back, long large contract and all. That one contract won't do anything to hurt our cap number, the only concern would be if it's the only one we can sign with wang's budget.
I'd love to have him come back, add a top four defenseman and we're definitely in the hunt for a playoff spot with halak in goal.

As a Sabre's fan, I feel I have a lot in common with Islander's fans : always left disappointed. As much as I would love to see NYI crash and burn (along with the Sabres), this upcoming season, I don't think they will. While I don't believe they're a contender or anything, I think they have a shot at getting a playoff sniff. Multiple young players taking a step up, JT dominating like usual (hopefully staying healthy), and even an average year from Halak could earn them a spot. If they miss, we'll still get a lottery pick, but I'd be surprised if they finish in the bottom 5 again. |

Vanek is not the answer to our problem, we had him last year. Yes, he plays well with JT & KO, but not at the price we offered him. I wouldn't be upset if we got him, but his laziness reminds me too much of Kovalev. A player that can be great, when he feels like showing up. Defense, that is our number one concern. We got a goalie, and we have kids who can score as they proved in the last bit of the season, we need 2 big name defense. That's all we should be doing, I don't care if they trade all their picks, that will help them the most. |

I'd be shocked if Vanek came back plus not sure if I would want him at 6 or 7 years - Vukota
I pray to all the gods that the original offer is off the table. That said, he'll still sign for less $$$/years somewhere else. And we will be grateful.
The Bailey situation needs to be resolved. One way or another. Preferrably by trade & with Isles eating some salary b/c none of the coaches have been able to get the most out of Josh, so why waste MORE time trying to solve the problem internally. You can hope in one hand & crap in the other. Time to cut bait & move on. |

Islanders point blank posted an article about Vancouver moving from the 6th to the first overall. They were suggesting the 6th overall + Horvat to acquire the top pick. IMO, if the Panthers didn't make that trade their GM needs to be punched. That would be such a steal for Florida. Not to mention I heard Florida was looking at nylander heavily (which he's projected to go 6th overall possibly). It's almost a no brainer. Get their guy + adding Horvat.
What annoys me is that the isles couldn't acquire schneider for the 15th overall and Nino... because Vancouver had such a hard-on for Bo Horvat. Now all of a sudden they're ready to bail on him for an even younger guy, who isn't even a clear cut #1 guy, considering the other guys ranked top 5.
I'm actually starting to like the top 6 in this draft. I would have liked next year's much more, but even though they are saying this draft is weak, the Isles are going to get a VERY good player. In fact I have a gut feeling if they don't get Ekblad, the forward they draft will be the next Jeff Skinner. We'll get an under valued player that turns out he should of went earlier. |

KO didn't break out till the age that Bailey is turning this year (if that makes sense to you). Anyway, I give him the first half of this upcoming season to start producing or else waive him, bury him in the minors. |

Who wants to bet that Jason Spezza will be the next overpaid, aging acquisition for the Rangers? It's a perfect fit after they buy out Richards. |

Just said that to someone last night. The rangers acquire every high end player that's available. Whether it's FAs or by trade.
They do lack a true #1 center in my opinion. I see this happening. They've left their cup window open to this year and the next. They will acquire him. |

Could see it also, but do the Rags have the assets to trade plus have better pieces than other teams can offer??? |

Well they certainly don't have a first round pick, so that's off the table. Not that it would have been particularly valuable anyway. |

I think that STL probably has the pieces of Berglund & Cole to land Spezza or they just go after Statsny?
The Rangers will have cap space for sure after buyout of Richards but think they lack trade chips to land someone significant... |
