Imagine you are a free agent you can go anywhere... You would burn a year of that contract... 3-4-5 years to play in an arena that is substandard to most AHL arenas?
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
Yes and especially if bigger and better things were on the way. These delicate players can survive a year at the Coli. |

There will be a lot more people in the seats this year. The last year should be pretty special. - jimmc7722
It doesnt matter how many @sses are in the seats.... The building is a slum. Players do not want to call a slum their home for a season.

I dont see why Brooklyn is going to be such a huge selling point to free agents.. yes its a nicer arena to be in, then NVMC... but its not a "hockey arena", its not gonna get much national exposure on TV due to the way the inside looks during a game.. yes it will make the owner more money... thats about it.
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
So if the isles are one of the better teams in the league in a few years they won't be on national tv as much because of the way the arena looks? |

Ohh they will be on TV a lot IF they ever get rolling, but it will be in the other teams building.

These players need to look at the big picture. The Isles have a good chance at being a very good team for a long time. The players should also have very little complaint about the Barclay Center. |

They have had that chance before and Nada, they had that chance again and Nada... Players would rather see the proof, rather then a leap of faith. Cant really blame them either.

They never had the chance like this with Brooklyn in sight as well as a possible new owner. Isles are building a team like the Kings and Hawks. Book it. Any vet that turns them down will regret it. |

I'm trying to stay positive. No reason they cannot be a force if they do what they are suppose to do. No question there are no guarantees. |

I imagine there will be further changes down the road to make it more conventional for hockey given the lease length |

Again I'm hoping for a new owner and a new building makes a difference. |

Wow, I remember X being an optimist! The Isles are a ways off but the future looks better than it has in a while. What happened to the X I knew that said things weren't so bad? |
