I'm not sure I follow what you're saying. If the rangers wanted to get rid of Nashs contract, they would send Nash and a first to buffalo, and buffalo would buy him out? ... this is just an example. Obviously any team would take Nash, even with his shortcomings, if it added a first round pick.

Here's the million dollar question. When Dan Boyle says he's not going to sign with the isles what does Garth snow do to address the need for a pp quarterback. Whether anyone liked or hated AMAC, who takes over his 25 min a night?

Random question of the day: why does Garth snow keep trading for guys who aren't locked up? It's phucking embarrassing to have all these guys publically snub the isles. Why does this keep happening???

I believe the answer to this question is "anyone who is better", which can subsequently be shortened to "anyone". You have to remember one thing- which defenseman plays 25-30 minutes a night depends on which one the coach decides to put on the ice for that long. Capuano doesn't give me the warm and fuzzy feeling that he actually knows what he's doing in any regard, including that one.

Yeah that's what snows recipe for vanek was, except he couldn't get that first rounder back.

My point was it makes an already crappy franchise look worse and adds to the perception of guys not wanting to play on the island when they continuously say publically no thanks.

I'm starting to really think Vanek was an idiot for not signing here, and as we go along, that is going to become more evident.....especially if Minnesota tells him to f**k off. There were really only certain things this team needed from a personnel standpoint- a couple of solid defensive defensemen, a goalie who doesn't suck, a forward to play on that line with JT and Okposo....maybe another winger who can score a little bit, although I think one of the guys from within will at least fill that spot. We're not really that far off, and Vanek filled one of those roles perfectly- when he went to Montreal, he really didn't fit the way he did here. I think his wife might be happier in Minnesota, but his career stats would be far better playing on JT's wing.

I don't think Boyle is signing here....I think he wants to keep that offer on the table that Garth gave to negotiate with other teams...stall tactic is his plan right now. he knows what the answer is now but will sit in holding pattern IMO. Its the money that matters I'm thinking, why else would his agent say he wants to be on a contender and the next thing you here is rumors of TO being on his list...then again that's DD from TSN and he thinks he is part of their management team anyway...

That doesn't make any sense. We have his rights until July 1st. If we're not going to sign him we'll trade his rights before then. There's no leverage for him to use.

Imagine you are a free agent you can go anywhere... You would burn a year of that contract... 3-4-5 years to play in an arena that is substandard to most AHL arenas?

I dont see why Brooklyn is going to be such a huge selling point to free agents.. yes its a nicer arena to be in, then NVMC... but its not a "hockey arena", its not gonna get much national exposure on TV due to the way the inside looks during a game.. yes it will make the owner more money... thats about it.
