Oh it makes sense when figures start being thrown around....when your at the table talking contract...Detroit says they want him...the offer is the starting point for the agent's conversation.....this is what they offered..sure Detroit may say go sign with them then...and they move on or negotiate from there....didn't say it carried leverage but it will be a starting point....and I didn't say anyone had to agree with me its my opinion....could be way off, but hey it was a thought....nonetheless he won't be an islander

Sometimes the $$$ is an issue and most of the times its not.. Mainly bc this franchise has been operated like a country club circus, and bonehead clueless coaches, just maybe a worthy player may want to sign here. The culture needs to change now & fast!!!!

CHI, MTL, PHI and TOR have no compliance buyouts left. DET, EDM, MIN, NAS, NJD, NYI, NYR, TBL, VAN, WAS have one. All other teams have two.

I don't think Boyle is signing here....I think he wants to keep that offer on the table that Garth gave to negotiate with other teams...stall tactic is his plan right now. he knows what the answer is now but will sit in holding pattern IMO. Its the money that matters I'm thinking, why else would his agent say he wants to be on a contender and the next thing you here is rumors of TO being on his list...then again that's DD from TSN and he thinks he is part of their management team anyway...
