Well they certainly don't have a first round pick, so that's off the table. Not that it would have been particularly valuable anyway.

They are going to go after Statsny.

Who wants to bet that Jason Spezza will be the next overpaid, aging acquisition for the Rangers? It's a perfect fit after they buy out Richards.
- eichiefs9

Spezza or stastny.

Don't want spezza.1 yr contract, we don't have the depth to pull this off unless we win the cup this year, which unless some miracle happens, I don't see.

Statsny is young but not a #1 C anymore but he's definitely good enough for top 6

Does this mean that Boyle has decided to negotiate or is this a preemptive offer by Snow?

I would think he gets Viz's size contract.

So wait..... We were waiting to hear if Boyle was going to negotiate with the Islanders... If the isles are offering him a contract does that mean Boyle is interested in joining the team? Or has the team made an offer just to help his decision process??

KO didn't break out till the age that Bailey is turning this year (if that makes sense to you). Anyway, I give him the first half of this upcoming season to start producing or else waive him, bury him in the minors.
- Dedshark

I like Josh, don't get me wrong. I'm baffled that he hasn't broken out yet. I think KO showed more promise 3 seasons ago before the shoulder injury. Took him the lockout season to fully recover from it. I have no clue what they should try with Josh—and the problem is, neither do the Isles. Burying him in the minors is a waste of money and talent. He doesn't deserve that. Trading him and eating some of his salary and getting something back is better than making him an overpaid career AHLer.

I expect making one more cup run is more important than a two year deal.
I'd put the chances of signing at around 30 percent, his rights will be traded for a similar return if he doesn't choose to sign

Good on Garth to offer Boyle the contract upfront.

No amount given... but it's got to be a 2 year 9 to 10 million to make him think about it!!!

Because it is a priority... maybe even a 2 year 11 million dollar contract???

Garth is at least kicking tires for a change.....hoping for a solid d-man, back up and top 6'er ....would be a decent mix with our core and the kids that are a year more experienced....

Question: I don't know much about the draft, other than hearing its a weak draft. Is it worth it to try to move up to take Reinhart? I know it depends on the cost, but if have to think it would be #5 and a top prospect at least. If the isles can't turn #5 overall into a contributing veteran, would it be wise to try to trade up for Reinhart? Where is he projected to go?
