Holding him back? Doesn't he lead the postseason in shots? He's generating a ton of scoring chances and playing a solid two-way game.
Scoring slumps happen to everyone. Sucks for him that it has happened during the playoffs. - bradleyc4

His effort is there, and he's playing a solid two way game. But they need more from him. If they lose the Series, his lack of offensive production is going to be one of the biggest reasons why. He has come up small.

He seems to always "slump" in the playoffs.
Last year, after posting 21G/21A/42P in 48 GP, he had an astounding 1 goal and 4 assists in 12 games.
In 08/09, he had a whopping 40G/39A/79P in 78 GP, and registered 1 goal and 2 assists in 4 games (granted, the series was a blowout for Detroit).
That gives him a grand NHL lifetime total of 5 goals and 13 assists in 40 games. But yeah, it's just a small slump. |

he sure would look good on giroux's wing though. - PhillaBully
Going after a player who specializes in shooting I feel would put Giroux over the one hundred point mark yearly. There are pros and cons to players such as Nash, Ryan and JvR but I do feel such players might be an even better fit then Voracek. I think Voracek might be more suited on the wing next to Brayden Schenn. Speaking of Schenn, if our coaching staff would consider Schenn on the wing, who knows, maybe Schenn could excel next to Giroux. |

Yep, it truly is a small slump.
There have been countless players who have been dubbed poor playoff performers after a couple of years of unfortunate play -- only to "magically" turn it around in future years.
I look at what Rick Nash has done in his career in the regular season: 336 goals and 628 total points in 783 career games (shooting 12.4%) as a truer indicator of his overall talent than to point to 40 career playoff games spread out over three different years. |

No question. Even if the Rangers are down on him, his value might have come down dramatically, especially with such a heavy price tag. |

Seems to always have those "small" slumps right around April. Much like Joe Thornton, until he actually DOES perform in the playoffs, I'm going to judge his playoffs based on his playoff performance, and his regular season based on his regular season performance. Crazy, I know. |

Just saw a headline "buffalo mulling a leino buyout".
Um 3 more yrs at 4.5 mil. What is there to think about?
Unless they want dead weight for a couple more years for tanking purposes |

I swear, he's the most overhyped player in the league. People still see him as a constant 40-goal threat, and he just isn't anymore. |

It's crazy that, much like the Phillies, he had a dramatic dropoff. Injuries didn't help, but it went from really good to good, and then just a sheer good to awful with no in between. |

If they keep him they should just have a tank logo for the next few years. They've already had a slug |

I'm not saying this is even remotely possible but I'd be really happy if Lecavalier fetched up Bobby Ryan. Then Ottawa can do as they wish to fill the Bobby Ryan hole. - SuperSchennBros

Aside from that crazy Phoenix goal, he doesn't seem to have that "wow" factor that other superstars have that makes you get up out of your seat. He's very unassuming on the ice, and although he produces, he doesn't ever seem like a game-changing threat. To me, at least. |

Honestly...yeah, kinda. They both have tremendous scoring abilities but rarely do they do something that blows you away. Yet they rack up 25-35 goals annually and are both very good 2-way players. But for the money he makes and the way his name gets tossed around, he seems very overrated to me. |

So you want to judge his future playoff production on his past regular season success and ignore his 40 playoff games spent over 3 different seasons? Well, whatever works for you. I contend that his playoff production, and his abysmal shooting percentage, will not dramatically change in the long-run. We shall see. |
