So what's this rumor about Kovalchuk wanting to come back and play for the Devils? Only way that would happen is if all 30 teams give their consent. Don't exactly see that happening...
And Laughton's nickname : LOL - Streit2ThePoint
If Homer were still GM, Kovalchuk would be G's RW |

He's a system defender, much like Bryz was a system goalie. AV's been a godsend for him. - Tomahawk
What exactly makes him a systems defender?

Watched the replay from last night when the Kings almost scored with like a minute left. One of the Rangers used his hand to push the puck into Lundqvist's pads. Is this legal? |

I see the temptation but I think I would go after a player that provides more of a guarantee. A defenseman who's more legit. I'm still not sold on MacDonald. This isn't to say MacDonald isva bad player but we need a number defenseman or a number two who can bridge the gap. Now we have a defense core that features MacDonald at 5 million, Coburn at 4.5 million, Streit at 5.25 million and both Grossmann and Schenn at 3.5 a peice. Does this not concern anyone? - SuperSchennBros
What player can the expect to reasonably acquire, is more of a guarantee. They always have the option to trade Grossmann or Schenn if necessary.

I bet the league would allow him to come back to the Devils. They'd make some dumb rule just for them. |

It's legal to push the puck when it's in the crease, not cover it or freeze it.
It was legal last night, what Stepan did. |

problem i think is not the money, its the length. Do you really want stralman @ 5 mill for 4-5 years? If it doesnt pan out, then it would definately be a unmovable contract. Too much risk |

He pushed it back, but didn't cover the puck. It was Stepan. He may have covered it later in that sequence. It was impossible to tell though. |

Ok, it looks like he pushed it with his fingers, not his whole hand. |

I always thought you couldnt play the puck with your hand in the crease. Was that ever a rule? |

It shouldn't be legal, though. Never understood why playing the puck w/ the hand was allowed in the d-zone, but nowhere else. |

He's only 27. That's just about the start of a defenseman's prime. |

I don't want to relive this.
Nor do I want to be reminded that the puck stopped ON THE GOAL LINE twice in that mother(frank)ing game.
Oh wait, I was just reminded.
Thanks bumholes. |

I can't believe that happened twice. It wasn't even like someones stick stopped the puck's momentum. The puck just died right on the goal line as everyone stood and watched. |

I'd rather overpay, then have a defense that falls short, and is a major weakness on the team. - MJL

I watched the first 2 periods but fell sleep before the third was over. My capacity to care is not very high for these two teams. |
