Why would they get rid of Sharp?
All you hear about is his cap hit, but he produces well over it.
Edit: I understand cap relief is needed, but moving Sharp over Hossa? - puckhead17
Hossa's contract makes him difficult to move.
That being said, I'd take Hossa over Sharp every day of the week. I think the Hawks FO feels the same. |

No. There's a bunch of posts on it a few pages back. Replaceable internally, valuable to the other team, 2C in return. - mohel
Gotcha, Thank you
in bold, NO, he lead the team in scoring.
They went with Handzus at 2C for awhile, (by default), but I don't think Bolland was given enough of a chance, (yes, he had injury issues).

He sucks. Did squat the second half and playoffs. You want him? We'll take Schenn. |

Nothing against Hossa at all, but given the choice I take Sharp, (he reminds me of another guy that was under appreciated), Tony Amonte. Very similar skill set. |

Bolland and Kane didn't seem to mesh well, imo. There's a lot of Bolland love here, though. Sharp would be the guy to go if one needs to go to fill a bigger need. Aside from a couple, there really isn't an actual desire to see him go. He did struggle from the Olympics through the post-season and seemingly wasn't injured. |

His swing looked good during batting practice at Wrigley right after the season. I don't think everyone is eager to trade him. Willing is perhaps a better word, and it is because he's a real asset nearing the end of his prime and they have a possible replacement available in-house. And others are less trade-able. Just my take. - mohel

Hossa plays a better 200ft game and plays in all situations. He's 35 but his strength and conditioning makes him as effective as players 10 years younger than him.
Sharp IMO doesn't offer much if he isn't scoring. |

I do understand the difference in their games, but players like Sharp are hard t come by, he's a threat every shift, (and Hossa is 35), if I had to choose. |

Did you read what I wrote? He struggled after the Olympics. Go look it up and don't give yearlong stats in response. |

The vast majority of that was first half. He did very little late in the season, and nothing in the playoffs. He was demoted to 3rd line duties this spring, and he makes too much for that role. Plus he's an A-hole . |

Sharp and Seabrook are redheaded step kids here...Underappreciated and both are highly valued other places. That's my take from doing NHL radio for the past 8 years. Both are very popular up North.

How about you?
I skipped a lot of the back reading; did we figure out the Tampa player? Count Flipula? |

Almost all of them. |
