That early season trade for Versteeg really killed the armchair GMing for Hawks fans. It's nice to be able to guess along with Stan and dream a little again.

I like a Plekanec for Sharp deal, Hawks would be pretty scary having that #2 centerman...obviously would need to be a little more going the Hawks way

With all of the young guns playing well in Tampa, maybe the lightning could trade filpulla to the hawks for oduya and a 2nd rounder... Not sure if hawks can take spezzas cap hit.... Plekanec might be an option as well

When it comes to guys like Spezza and Kesler, it's not about their contracts, its about what Stan gives up to get them. Depth is already an issue, so it doesn't make sense to weaken our depth even more to get one of these guys.

Frans Neilsen makes so much sense, he's a quality centre that can play in all situations and he has a reasonable cap hit. I know he's valuable to New York, but it wouldn't cost as much to get him as it would Spezza or Kesler.

The 2C need isn't the only void this team has, I'd be careful not to address this concern while forsaking the others. I have faith that Stan will do the right thing.

Carolina would be an interesting trading partner. Jordan Staal would look good between Saad and Kane, so would his brother Eric.

Have you heard about that guy Frans Nielsen???

Frans Nielsen is so under-rated its insane.

Honestly, the return would have to be Saad + 2105 1st round pick or Sharp + 2015 2nd round pick.

I am really reluctant to deals where our younger players (Leddy, Shaw) get moved for older players.
Reasons:
-team becomes older
-depth becomes depleted
-incoming players are short term

Question:
If Leddy is not quite dependable enough on D, why hasn't anyone thought of him on wing???
