Why?
A nice piece of Danish with some coffee in the morning - nothing better.
And after, a piece of pastry. - StLBravesFan

Hey Mo! What did Elbows say? - HawkintheD
The cap for this year is expected to be closer to the original estimate of $71M than had earlier been feared. The tweet by Mirtle also said that next year looks like $77M or so (this number is based on the feeble recollections of my addled brain) |

Exactly - You just turned 26. You think you know everything.
It's ok to disagree, but to blatantly deny in a rude way is childish. - Tazer19
When things are so obviously off the wall and riddled with incorrect statements it is often easier to just go with the short form "no."
BTW - are you going to cite the sources for your comments earlier or are you going to admit that you are full of crap? |

Please, some reading comprehension:
You said that the Hawks made the best offer for Kesler: source?
You said that despite JJ saying the Hawks were out of the bidding for Kesler, they were still in it: source? - StLBravesFan
It's basic logic - which teams have the actual assets to acquire Kesler without destroying their team and farm system????
Given Keslers list - show me some assets from other teams they can afford to give up to acquire Kesler.
It's called addition by subtraction.
Now, I'm quite aware that Benning has no desire to trade Kesler to the Blackhawks, however the Blackhawks are really the only team with the required assets to really make a deal for him - which completely legitimizes JJ's claim that the "asking price is too high" - that really translates into "I don't want to trade Kesler to Chicago."
IMO, it will be Benning coming back at the draft trying to sell Kesler to Bowman. It will be another Luongo situation.
I don't know if you have any hobbies or do any trading of any sort but I have plenty experience in trading items, so I can clearly see the game being played here. This sounds like the basic "bluff" where someone holds out and then soon enough there are no buyers, then that individual will lower his price just to move the item....
The real problem in the West is that no team wants to see Chicago get better, because they want to win too - and that is the real issue involved in this potential trade.

Really? how does a team stop a team that has 2 legitimate first lines? Especially with a coach like Q who knows his poop and likes to mix it up when he needs to?
You can never have too many tools in your toolbox but I would rather have less tools rather than a toolbox full of junk..... The funny part is that is a bad analogy here considering the Hawks have epic depth and it's generally not "junk." - Tazer19

So - you have no confirmable basis for your suppositions - basically, just your opinion.
No problem with that.
Unless you present it as provable fact.
Which you did. |

Trading Sharp a PPG player is stupid - it makes no sense.
Sharp- Toews -Hossa
Saad - Kesler - Kane
xxxx - Shaw - Versteeg
xxxx - Kruger - Morin
You think ANY TEAM could matchup with that?
From a coaching perspective that would cause teams to seriously panic - even contenders.
With Kesler LA doesn't beat the Hawks. - Tazer19
You calling Sharp a point per game player proves you have no clue what you're talking about. |

1. The first thing bolded I can agree with. I'm sure he doesn't want to trade with Chicago and it's conceivable that the asking price for the Hawks is much higher than it might be for Pittsburgh or Philly, for example..

Hard to believe just 2 weeks away from the draft. It is going to be tough waiting. My favorite day of the year. Still wonder which picks play right away? Ekblad will. Many think reinhart and draisaitl will, too. |

I like arguing over movies or music more. This draft might be the most exciting one in years. I think a lot of deals will be made. Bettman will probably get a sore throat with all the trades he will be announcing. I hope he knows how to pronounce teravainen |
