Sorry for not trolling. something I don't do..
And not knowing that suppose to be a joke when he uses it in a post describing a trade offer?

I'm not a regular, just a fan....

I think Leddy sucks. And anyone who thinks, not you btw, that Nielsen is worth a player like hjalmarsson has no clue about the value he brings to the Hawks.

Does that mean I don't know what nielsen is? No, it doesn't. It means I know how good hjalmarsson is. Especially at his contract.

I actually enjoy watching World Cup soccer. Don't ever watch outside of the World Cup though.

There was an amazing header goal today in the Netherlands/Spain game. Was a beauty.

Don't get me wrong, hockey over soccer everyday. But it can be entertaining. I mean, where else can you watch grown men drop like they have been shot whenever there is the slightest contact? That in itself is entertaining, especially when they do the super-slow motion replay and it is clear as day that they weren't even close to getting hurt.

Don't mean to be provincial, but:

How could anyone watch soccer after watching this?

A lot of the guys love Neilsen over here... always a topic of interest.

Not sure the Isles will even trade him.

He is a pretty important player on the team.

He does it all..., 2nd line power play, kills powerplays, good face off guy... and the best shoot out guy the Isles have.

We already have Keith to kill our PP's

Neilsen only makes 2.75 million... could be 4 to 4.5 million if he was a free agent.

I know.

Cheap, can be played basically everywhere. All you need is a ball, don't even need shoes/grass/goals/etc.

There are a lot of people in the world who don't have the opportunity to play anything else.

Yeah for cap space I certainly am advocating trading Bickell - hes not worth 4 million per.

I could care less about how he performed in the playoffs because that was Q's coaching and not Bickells skill - don't confuse the two.

If Bickell was so damn skilled he would have scored more than 14 points in the regular season. Bickell is NOT a skilled player.... I would take Buff over Bickell 10/10 times - at least Buff is a skilled player.

Bickell is a useful player but not 4 per useful.

Say there was no salary cap would you pay Wayne Gretzky in his prime 60 per?

You guys gotta think salary cap and the future.

Sorry, as an accountant I play "money ball" and have been doing so since before the movie or even the concept was "invented" or promoted.

Bickell is NOT worth 4 per - it is really that simple, and there are plenty of players who make much less that will do what he does - even in the playoffs. There are plenty of players that will listen to their coach and will do as they're told.

Besides, as a player myself you shouldn't be crowned a hero for keeping your stick on the ice - that is just common sense and that is where many of Bickells goals and points came from - from him keeping his stick on the ice and using his size to get position.

- Tazer19

I wish the rest of the guys here would listen to your logic. No one thinks about the salary cap, and yes Vancouver will pay 50% or more of Kesler's salary. And Buff was super skilled while Bickell is just a little bit skilled. If the Hawks didn't have Q, Bickell would be worthless.

Keep up the good work!

So - he's not worth $4MM - but (as you said earlier) some GM would give up a first for him?

Neilsen is a Mike Peca clone....

He could be a 30 goal scorer on the Hawks.

You guys would have to pay him at least 5 million after his contract was up...lol.

As often happens in the world, money determine that. I'd be curious about what number Fro would have to take for Stan to want him.
- mohel

The funny part IMO, is that there are plenty of FA's that would love to play in Chicago and take a discount but the ones that came up through our system and played a role of some sort want a massive payday. I don't think they realize how good they have it.

Saad is really going to cost us. If Bickell is making 4 what do you think Saad wants?

Also, I wouldn't be shocked if Saad was offersheeted by numerous teams like Hammer.

That is why you rally gotta think about those situations and get these guys extended before the opportunity is even there for them to bolt for a massive payday.
