There is one more quality upcoming UFA center that hasn't been discussed...
David Kejci...
I'm not hearing any whispers but I do believe the Bruins could be active this summer.

Krejci would be a fantastic pickup, but I would be shocked to see Boston unload him. |

Not sure Richards is 2nd line center on a top team anymore...He has become the Kings version of Dave Bolland...

I read on one of these posts that one of either Leddy or Oduya might need to move..... I know Ottawa was big on Hjalmarsson in the past and B. Murray wants a gritty fwd.
pieces can be added to either side on this, but the main structure could be:
To Chicago - Spezza + Weircoch
To Ottawa - Hjalmarsson + Bickell - GadesnSens
Will never happen |

Plus, he is $5.5M.
I wouldn't swap Sharp for Richards (not saying that's the 'deal' to be made), but if the Hawks rid themselves of Rozsival and Versteeg, that $4M # I threw out for M Richards is doable. You would weaken the D a bit, and you would have to make sure Morin (or insert versteeg replacement) wouldn't hurt you |

Anybody know if the "Hockey News" Draft Preview is on newsstands or store shelves for you young guys?
Wiz has the best stuff, but I've been getting the Preview since they starting putting it out. Kinda like a paper copy for that bathroom reading. Gave up my subscription years ago, and only buy the Preview now. Went to Meijars earlier this week, and they didn't have it.
Anybody can help?
P.S. Head is spinning more than usual with all of JJ's blogs and keeping up with all the back reading. Anyone mention Neilson from the Islanders yet?lol |

It's all good... if you want a 2C, you have to pay the price.
Can always trade for Bozak???
- jimmc7722
Just like if you want a young, cost controlled defenseman who can skate as well as anyone in the NHL, you have to pay the price. Same for the top scorer on one of the best teams in the league. |

Brassard is an RFA in NY according to the salary data on the Site. He has skill, a nasty side and could be a nice option as well. He has fit in well with NY but the puck possesion and speed the Hawks play with could be a reason he might want to test the waters and get an opportunity to play with the best playmaker in the world as opposed to where he is on the line up now. |

And in talking with my friends in Boston, they have said that he has not quite grasped the wake up call that was sent when Seguin was moved. |

Maggie...U have a better chance of playing for the Sens next season than Hjalmarsson....He gave the Hawks a huge discount and goes nowhere.

There really is nothing for Brassard to test...unless he drags his feet and hopes for an offer sheet.
He has been one of the better players for NY and I would think they will pay him.

This Krejci idea is interesting. Depends on what is needed to sign him; but Sharp and Leddy would need to be traded to fit him within the cap. Those trades could bring at least two inexpensive, but good, bottom six forwards. Dahlbeck and Rundblad can be the 6/7, with Rozy at 5. But I suspect Krejci will be too expensive to make all that happen. If it did, this could be the best Hawk team yet, imo. |

Why do you keep bringing up Runblad, he sucks and will never play regularly with the Hawks |
