Myers is very polarizing. I see a lot of good in him but I can admit that he has gotten beat a lot.

Myers if he gets his offense consistently rolling his contract will make him a good complimentary player. I don't think he is a franchise dman but he will be a very good #2 or a pairing of a 2/2 punch

Murray said that , his play has hardly regressed since he made that statement . All he said too much was expected from Myers after the Calder season . Defenseman develop slower than forwards . You have no idea of Myer's perceived value with other franchises . I know first hand they think he is going to be a gem . The quote said to me was you cannot teach size . And they are impressed with the skating ability he already has to go with it . They think if polish this pebble so more he is going to be a gem . Have heard that from folks in 2 organizations that are not the Sabres. Where do you get he is not 1 OR 2 Defenseman from that statement . He is still a kid . That who is developing right now under Nolan.

By the way the AV's have no plans to trade O'Reilly . It is all posturing for his negotiation . Just like Murray's comment about Myers. You do not talk about player down and then try and trade . He is trying to give Myer's even more motivation to prove him wrong.

They are working on Stastny deal first . Then they will lock in O'Reilly ( they have more time for O'Reilly since is an RFA ) . They have much as said O'Reilly is in their plans

IMO unless you are getting a bonafide top line offensive player, it's foolish to move a 24 year old Myers.
