Totally off-topic, but if Regent was healthy would LA have even gotten yo the Cup?
Maybe not
Bc I'm assuming Martinez would've been the one to sit
And finally, we can now buy out Leino |

If he injures himself in the next 24-48 hours are we no longer allowed to buy him out? or is that only for injuries during the regular season? |

Reggie was deemed healthy for game 1 of the cup finals and didn't play so I guess that answers your question |

I'd like to think Murray and CO. aren't idiots... If Risto or McCabe or whoever we draft this year plays out of their mind in camp then Murray will put them on the roster if they show even the slightest hesitation or slip up though they will be down to AHL or Juniors.. Zadorov will learn absolutely nothing in juniors same with who ever we draft this year still hate the rule should be able to play in AHL right away - bluengold12
He can continue to improve his offensive game. |

I don't watch any Rochester games but it sounds to me like the only one who's really earned it/has a legitimate shot for opening day is Larsson. Risto/Grigs will probably be late season call ups and the rest will probably spend the year there. - Sabresfan-365
Armia got better towards the end of the season. Assume he plays part of the year down on the farm, but I expect he gets a look too. For me its about seeing if he can score at the nhl level. Hes a winger, so his defensive responsibilities are less than a center. And since hes a scoring, top 2 lines winger, I think those guys show whether they are gonna make it earlier rather than later. Not like a power forward or defenseman that may take longer to develop. |

Do you think they will use a regular buy out on Ville so his cap still counts? That way they would still have 2 buyouts they could use in trades with other teams. - Jebus_Price
Here' my thought on this and its probably not the "popular" opinion but.. If we do for instance trade back into the 1st round and in doing so have to take on a contract a team doesn't want then I'm going to assume the player was once good. As long as its not a contract that runs 3 years or longer then I'd rather just keep the player to see if we can spark something in their play... Not going to hurt to have a once good player on the team or maybe one that just wasn't fitting in with their prior team. If they only have a year or two years left on deal and they have a cap hit of 5 million or 6 million a year who cares??
We have tons of cap space and a bunch of open roster spots.. Maybe we get a guy in a deal who was a 50 point guy two years ago but had an off year last year and now he uses this as motivation and gets back to his 50 point form. I think its worth it to keep whatever contract we take on if its the right situation. |

Armia was tagged as a better Vanek clone . if I remember.
Wasn't he recovering from an injury early in the season ? |

Rubbish.. He can continue to improve his offensive game against better competition in the AHL... There's really no argument that works in the favor of keeping a guy like Zadorov in juniors over the AHL. If anyone thinks he's better off in juniors then playing in the AHL you obviously don't have the player or the teams best interests at heart. |

He's an interesting one. A lot of people are thinking Carter-lite or vanek with better skating. Oddly enough though, I recall Bob McKenzie comparing him to Mikael Samuelsson, which confused the poop out of me. |

I know.. my point was its a stupid rule for players like him who clearly benefit nothing from juniors rather then playing against men in the AHL. |

Sorry, your post made it seem otherwise. Another year in juniors won't hurt him anyways. Got the chance to see him a decent amount visiting friends up in london, he's still got some stuff to work on. He was always touted as a "project" type player. |

Yup the other bit that seems to have faded from him is that up until the draft he was said to be a pretty good 3 zone player, don't know if that's still the case now. |

Greene would have come out, Martinez sits for no one.

I've heard from many scouts and other hockey annalists that he look like a man against boys out there in terms of physical presence. Yeah maybe.. maybe he can learn a small amount in juniors but if he were playing in the AHL against grown men who all ready are his size then it would make him have to learn ot be skilled better defensivly quicker. |

Physically he's there, no doubt but some of the technical stuff still needs to be worked on. If he really was allowed to go to the AHL this soon I wonder how much ice time he'd really see? At least this way he gets the minutes and the lead role on what will probably be another mem cup contending team. |

Did you know Squirrel's only mate twice a year? Must be rough, no wonder you're so grumpy. Try being more rabbit like and maybe you won't be such a debby downer - Sabresfan-365
So what you're saying us they do it two more times a year than a married man? |

I heard someone over on diebytheblade saying that Pierre Lebrun is now saying that Daily and Co will put in a request to change the draft lottery for next year within the next 2 weeks ? Has anyone else heard this? |

The rumour is they'll present it to the board of governors but I think the vote would have to be unanimous and I seriously doubt Pegula and the other bottom dwellers will be up for it. |

Of course they would. Not doing so would be considered approving of the tank strategy, and we don't need that kind of conduct in the honorable and integrity-first NHL. |
