Still in shock that we have a real blogger. Thank you Michael for compete sentences, in-depth evaluations and a full page of organized writing.
Maybe you are a sign of things to come for the sabres. - jackzack87
thx, jack...absolutely love how the core was dismantled and the return both gm's got...pretty psyched about the future |

Didn't Regehr say similar ? A chance to win changes things - OneKaneOneCup
am pretty sure that regehr really didn't want to be traded at that point in time...he still had the no-trade clause and gm regier did well sending player regehr to los angeles |

Nolan doesn't believe in force feeding young players but yet...Girgensons played full season in buffalo, he clearly needs some years in AHL until he can learn to win more than 41% of faceoff and learn how to score at least 15 goals in AHL. Why Would he be playing center in NHL while in AHL he was on the wing 85% of the time? Every Amerks game I went to he was playing wing. But we are not gonna force feed young kids lol...Sabres are not going to see Reinhart in NHL for 2-3 years with Nolan as coach, I'm not happy with him. Zadorov is much better than Weber at this point
"We ain't gonna force feed young kids like Pysyk but Girgensons we are gonna force feed" I predict that Girgensons plays 20 minutes a game this season and doesn't even score 15 goals. Future captain - MrSquirrel
I think that girgensons is a little different than the other youngins...his mental makeup and nhl size is what got him to stick this year...everytime I've watched him, he's always keeping his feet moving and you can see the wheels in his head turning as he soaks up the details of the pro game...
that being said, I hope you keep posting, squirrely...need stuff like that here to keep things in check

Carlo Colaiacovo should be on radar. He is clockwork for 65 games a season, can play some 2nd unit PP, and isn't the worst player on a 3rd pairing. Could be perfect if you keep Zadarov around to soak up the NHL a bit before sending him back to juniors. When Carlo gets one of his nagging injuries, you give Zadarov his 10 games.
I think the 10 games in the NHL can be invaluable to the young player. It's the teams who mess up the opportunity to demonstrate to these young guys just what they need to work on to stick next season. What tipped the scale and made me decide your former GM should go was the ineptitude with Grigo. Unforgivable.
I was just thinking of Colorado and Buffalo being trade partners. Let's say Erhoff is a target. Would you want to work a deal for O'Reilly coming back, or their 2014 first round pick? What about expanding it to include Grigo, since Roy is familiar with him and might know what buttons to push? Colorado could free up some money to sign Stastny by moving O'Reilly and balance out payroll between F and D better.
They seem like natural trade partners, and a player like O'Reilly could lessen pressure for the centers Buffalo almost surely drafts this year and next. Also lets Hodgson play on wing that perhaps he's better suited for? - Firebrand
Ya, ROR has been talked about a lot on here. I'd love to get him.
Not sure if they'd want Grigorenko, but Ehrhoff + seems like a deal that could work for both sides
If they demand Myers, idk if a deal will happen

Buffalo was the highest-rated market in the regular season for NBC and NBCSN’s national games and, with Sabres games, generated the second-highest local cable rating in the N.H.L. (Pittsburgh had the highest.)

Yeah I agree. To me I see a dominant player out of Girgenson. He wins majority of 1 on 1 battles, makes the smart play and gives u an honest effort every night. Hasn't really gotten on the score sheet the way id like him to. Maybe he will this season. |

Phillys gm had made some seriously odd decisions the last few years. Goes to the Stanley cup then trades away 2 big time fowards for role playing guys. Then trades another potential star foward JVR to Toronto for a defenseman that couldn't even crack toronto's defense. LA just sat back and let Columbus and Philly give them a power house. It makes me wonder what philly could have been if they hadn't traded away 3 big time fowards. |

But would Girgensons be better served with time in the AhL also?
We'd all like to see him turn into Brown as opposed to Gaustad...
Where's the better place for him to work on his scoring?

IMO too late for the AHL after playing a whole season here.

Girgensons is going to start to put some pucks in the net. He had a ton of opportunities last year, which tells me he knows where to be on the ice.
Kid's got too much talent to be compared to Gaustad.

Poor mans version of Backes is more realistic kids only 20 and he's had success at the Olympics and during his rookie year. Doesn't help that he wasn't playing with any talent |

I would have thought the O'Reilly to Buff talk would have started by now with the latest report of arbitration. So what's he worth? |

Myers is NOT a franchise defensemen. Those are Murray's words.
Girgensons is only 41% captain.
Eat half the salary, Brad Marchand

I give their gm credit but c'mon that was almost gift wrapped. They were fortunate enough to have been soo bad for soo long that they: 1. Had a lot of prospects and depth & 2 were easy to trade with bcz they were a weak team out in the west.
The kings gm made smart decisions for about 10 years and now it's really paying off. I really give that organization a lot of credit.
Makes me think that buffalo can get their someday. |

Myers is very polarizing. I see a lot of good in him but I can admit that he has gotten beat a lot. |
