As much as I dislike Avery, I did find this pretty amusing.
- PLindbergh31
I didn't. I thought it was bush-league, even for him. |

I know this may not be popular opinion but I loved Avery when he wasn't playing the Flyers. I thought he was entertaining as hell. |

I know it rubs some people the wrong way, but I love how *ahem* "honest" Stewie is when giving his feelings on other hockey peoples. - BulliesPhan87
Stewie cracks me up. He is also very active and engaged on Facebook, which was where this original "discussion"is taking place as I write.

P sure you can reaquire your own pick to make it work - BulliesPhan87
It was several CBAs ago and things change but when the Flyers reacquired their 1st round picks in the Gratton deal they weren't allowed to use the picks in the coming years as compensation for free agent deals because they were no longer considered theirs by the league. |

Dmitry Kulikov for Braydn schenn - Winning
I was all about that last off season.. Not so sure this year.. I think we have a good out look, and I think Schenn is a really solid player... I like Kulikov a lot, but I dont know if he is worth Schenn.. |

He was divisive. Most teams he left were ecstatic to have him gone. |

With P.A Parenteau being shopped, I hope the Flyers go after him. On Reddit, when a Colorado fan asked what could be had for Parenteau, a Montreal fan responded that they were looking at " (a defenseman) along the lines of Grossmann, McQuaid or Fayne." and a low pick. That is a move I could really get behind. |

Yeah, I'd jump at that if I was the Flyers-Grossmann and a 3rd for Parenteau? Giddyap
EDIT: even the cap implications are great, just $500K more for PA than Grossmann |

I bet they were. Let me clarify what I meant when I said I loved Avery. I absolutely hated him as a player but his antics were so unbelievably over the top that I couldnt look away from them. Just like a terrible car accident on the side of the road. He was very entertaining to watch when your team wasn't involved. There will never be a pest/agitator like him ever again (probably for the better I guess) |

I think a 3rd counts as a high pick. I believe the Montreal fan was implying a 4th or 5th |

4th or 5th? I'll volunteer to drive out to Denver and pick up Parenteau. |

Ideally, you'd want to bring in somebody a bit faster/hardier than Parenteau. IMO, he and Akeson are essentially the same kind of player... might as well just stick with the cheaper in-house option. |

Bruins say that Shawn Thronton will not be offered a new deal and Dallas says that Ray Whitney, Tim Thomas and Vern Fiddler will all be free agents. They reportedly made an offer to Fiddler, but he opted to test the waters |

Any RFA's you might be able to offer a OS where the other team might have to think. Maybe something where you only surrender a 2nd round pick for high upside as an example a guy like Larsen in NJ. |

Until Akeson puts up nearly 50 assists in a Season, or scores at close to a point a game pace in the NHL, they aren't essentially the same player. Not even close. Akeson would have to prove that. |

Had to google the definition for that . Definately a good word to describe him. |

You better be getting a winger back in that deal. I would do it for Gudbranson but seems a lot for RFA kulikov |

Injuries would be my only concern, actually. Parenteau is a pretty solid guy when healthy. |

Solid, yes. He's 31 and not sure he fills our needs precisely... those are my reservations.
I'd like somebody a bit quicker, a bit heavier, a bit younger, more of a finisher. |
